[...] I needed a sub to round out the bottom end of my HT setup in which I'm using Paradigm Monitor 3's as fronts, Atoms as rears, and a matched CC-whatever as a center, all on a Panasonic SA-XR55 -- great sound but just a bit light on the low end even though the fronts go below 40Hz. The listening room is 16' x 20'. Didn't want to rattle walls or break windows, just provide the right amount of slightly floor-vibrating bass. This does the job perfectly at what, up until now, has been an unheard-of low price for a quality sub. Again, go elsewhere if you want to p*** off the neighbors. But if what you want is nice, tight, realistic low end with easy connectivity, auto-on, and a size that pleases the spouse, all at a GREAT price, you can stop right here.

I bought this to replace a passive sub that played in-line with the left and right speakers in my home theater. You could hear the difference immediately. It sounds good with music and provides the correct thumpety-thumpety for action flicks.It seems very well made and is physically tiny for what it is. I'm surprised by the amount of bass you can get out of such a small box with a relatively small driver. It might not be up to snuff for a main stereo system and critical listening; I don't know. But for a home theater with explosions and soundtrack music it's perfectly fine.I have JBLs all around the rest of the system, and this fits in seamlessly after a little fiddling with the volume.

my first experience with definitive technology.All I can say is wow!For its size this sub is amazing!I AM HOOKED ON DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY FROM NOW ON;ALL FUTURE HOME AUDIO SPEAKERS WILL BE DEF TECH.THIS SUB HAS IMPRESSED ME THAT MUCH.And im no stranger to home audio.
