wow. seriously, wow.

i picked one of these up on clearance when a nearby outdoor store went under. it came with a microfiber bag (like high end sunglasses). i put it away not wanting to ruin such a nice piece of craftsmanship. fast forward a couple of years, i am reorganizing my things and i stumble upon this knife. i realized how useless a knife is in the cabinet so i started carrying it since my delica was beginning to show signs of wear on the pocket clip (the paint had chipped a bit). great oden's raven the benchmade is sharp! every bit as sharp as my spyderco knives have been. i learned from a vid review that you can open AND close this one handed and promptly put a gouge in my pinky fingernail...be careful, it is SHARP! in fact, i have been using it intermittently (for variety i trade between a gerber easy out, a spyderco delica, endura, dragonfly, and this) for about 5 months now and have not had to drag it across the sharpmaker yet. i usually like the drop point, but i have not found an application where this improved sheepsfoot does not shine. blade locks solid...no play at all. clip is for right or left side tip up carry. thumb hole is every bit as effective if not more so than a stud. the jimping is perfect...although i believe technically this only refers to the back of the blade, the griptillian has serrations on the front where the liner lock would be too. i came to amazon to buy another (no, of course i dont really need a new one, why are you asking a silly question like that?), and in so doing, i found the only negative aspect...this knife will set you back around $100. yes you can spend a lot more for a knife, but unless you have nothing better to do than pick nits about pocket knives, this knife will serve you well. unless you try to stick it into concrete like a previous reviewer or use it as a pry bar/screwdriver the benchmade is good to go.

Great knife

This knife is great for the money. I have a very large collection of top of the line knives, but I carry this one with me most of the time. As with most benchmade knives it comes sharp but not razer sharp so after a quick re sharpen its near perfect.

Very happy overall...

I ordered this knife after wanting something 3 inches or smaller for an EDC(every day carry). I ordered this without the thumb studs because I've had other knives that had it fall off after use. I had always heard of Benchmade's quality, but never owned one. When I purchased and received the knife, I was amazed at the sharpness and attention to detail. It's a high quality product with good R&D.Everything was going well until I dropped this knife. I of course did not mean to do this. I was grilling chicken and upon handling the chicken with my knife, I burned myself obviously saved the chicken. I presume the knife fell straight on its point and the tip broke off!!! I must admit that I have had some very cheap POS knives in my time BUT I've never had one break from a drop(on concrete garage floor). I called Benchmade and they replaced the blade for free. Not only that, but they offered to change the blade from the 'hollow grind' to the 'drop point' blade. So far, I haven't had any more issues and the service I received from Benchmade has been great. I guess these things can happen and when they do, great customer service is always nice. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants great customer service, quality and made in the USA.
