Indispensable for finding vacuum leaks

This detector is not cheap but if you have a vacuum leak and want to find it without doing a lot of trial and error parts replacement, it's likely the best tool you can get.I had a vacuum leak on my 1996 BMW that caused a rough idle for the first 10-15 minutes. At first, I could barely detect it. Over the period of 2 years (yes I had the problem for 2 whole years!), the idle got progressively worse.I replaced the O2 sensors (2 of the 4), the intake gaskets, the oil separator, the catalytic converters, the mass air-flow sensor, the temperature sending unit -- all to no avail.After hooking up this detector and pumping smoke into the intake system for about 1 minute, smoke rolled out between the throttle body and the intake manifold and I knew I'd finally found the cause.Twenty minute trip to the dealership for parts, another 30 minutes to replace the $10 gasket and the problem was finally solved!This tool is very well made and should last a long time. It's simple to use. All you need is a source for compressed air. If you suspect a vacuum leak, this is the way to know for sure exactly where it is.

Much needed tool for the automotive shop

I've had the Redline Total tech for about 5 years and it has helped me solve some driveability problems other shops could not.I bought mine over 5 years ago and it is still working fine. It is well well made along with the attachments.I believe they have a newer model available now, but this one works fine.

Redline Smoke Pro

I have used the smoke pro in the past, when I switched jobs & the new shop didn't have one, I had to buy it. It is less bulky than other smoke machines I've used & has more than paid for itself in less than a month. It is easy to use and I reccomend it over any other smoke machine.
