The Hindenburg (LZ-129) was a German zeppelin. Along with its sister ship the Graf Zeppelin II, it was the largest aircraft ever built. It was named after Paul von Hindenburg, the president of Germany from 1925 to 1934. During its second year of service, it was destroyed by a fire while landing at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Manchester Township, New Jersey, on May 6, 1937. The Hindenburg was built by Luftschiffbau Zeppelin in 1931 to a new, all-duralumin design. It was a visually striking “ship of the air‥, at 804 feet long and 135 feet in diameter. It was longer than three Boeing 747s placed end to end, longer than four Goodyear Blimps end to end, and only 79 feet shorter than the Titanic. It was originally equipped with cabins for 50 passengers and a crew complement of 40, though on the last flight there were an additional 21 crew members in training. To reduce drag, the passenger rooms were contained entirely within the hull, rather than in the gondola as on the Graf Zeppelin. During its first year of commercial operation in 1936, the Hindenburg flew 308,323 km carrying 2,798 passengers and 160 tons of freight and mail. It made 17 round trips across the Atlantic Ocean, with ten trips to the US and seven to Brazil. In July of that year it also completed a record Atlantic double-crossing in 5 days, 19 hours and 51 minutes. The German boxer Max Schmeling returned home on the Hindenburg to a hero's welcome in Frankfurt, after defeating Joe Louis. On August 1 the Hindenburg was present at the opening ceremonies of the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. Moments before the arrival of Adolf Hitler, the airship crossed over the Olympic stadium, trailing the Olympic flag from its gondola.

Great value

Beautiful lustre and nacre. My pearl choker is more ivory than "white". I had hoped for a hint of pink nacre which really makes the difference between a great and outstanding color in my opinion; however the color matching is excellent. They lay perfectly around my neck even though I had feared they wouldn't because in the box they showed two small slightly uneven sections. This is probably due to being natural cultured pearls. I know I'll love them for many years to come.I'm curious what a real appraisal of this strand would be. I have no doubt it would be higher than what I paid, but I wonder if it would equal the copy of the certified appraisal included. These would make a great graduation, anniversary or promotion gift. I only wish I had bought matching earrings since they color match all sets shipped in the same order.

The Lucius Malfoy Walking Stick the Genuine Article

I ordered the Lucius Malfoy Walking Stick a couple weeks ago. It arrived in the mail within the week and I was very pleased when I opened the package. It really is the Genuine article. The Noble Collection did a surpurb job crafting the head of the snake which is durable beautiful silver metal. The eyes are set with small round emerald jewels and the fangs are surprisingly sharp. The wand inside is removed by pulling the head piece away from the cane piece, no twisting or unscrewing is necessary. The wand and cane are both made from highly polished smooth wood that feels more like ivory. The walking stick I was surprised to find feels heavy, attesting further to the fact that it is not made with cheep materials.This is the most money I have ever spent on a single product and I was worried that I might have buyers remorse, but after opening the box and and holding the cane for the first time, examining the beautiful craftmanship, I was no where near dissapointed. If you purchase this product I garentee you will be pleased too.Oh, just an additional note, this is not a child's toy, if small children should wish to play with this I reccomend only with adult supervision.

Display Only.. Not Functional...

I was disapointed in the quality of this product. The shaft of the walking stick is made from a cheap plastic. For the price, they should have gone the extra mile and made it out of a nice hard wood.The silver plated snakes head is nice. It is very heavy, and the green crystal eyes look great. If it were not for the cheap plastic shaft, this would have been an A+ item, unfortunatly the most I can give it is a C.So, if you are wanting to use this as a functional walking stick, don't waste your money. But if all you want is a nice looking display item, it is well worth buying as it dose look nice.

Realistic replica but sharp fangs!

My 10yo Harry Potter nut thinks this is incredibly cool. It is very realistic and exactly like what is in the movie. It's not cheap plastic -- the head is metal, and screwed onto the base. The wand pulls out nicely. One thing that didn't need to be as realistic though is the snake fangs -- they are really sharp - like little nails. Definitely a risk of getting punctured if you grip it tight and play around with it at all. Not recommended with younger children -- more of a display piece than a toy.

Nice promise ring

This was an excellant set for my son and I. I was amazed at the value we got for the price. We were set to purchase the same set for $100.00 more elsewhere until we saw it on Amazon.com. The amount of the contents was staggering. The buildings included would easily cost at least $40-50.00 a piece by themselves. So to include such detailed items as part of this set was really over the top. Great train set for an outstanding price.

Okuma makes a great 8wt reel here, especially for the price. I have had this reel for 3 years and have never had any problems with it. I use it mostly for NE Stripers, but have also taken it bone fishing. Thus, it was worth buying the extra spool to put some different line on it for different kinds of fishing. If you dont want to spend the money for the top of the line gear, this is a great way to go.

This is a gorgeous ring. The black diamond looks very elegant surrounded by the yellow gold. Which is why I rated it at 4 stars. Sadly there was a defect on the top of the stone about a 1/16" big. Wife would have spotted it in a minute. Amazon readily returned the money, good company.
