Beautiful faucet, perfect for bathroom

We ordered this to replace a very old Delta faucet that had been leaking. Besides the Grohe quality, we wanted a faucet that would sit up higher than the old one -- it had been difficult to get our hands under the older, low-slung faucet.If you're wondering about the size, the top of the arc on this faucet is just over 7 inches above the base, and the spout is 5 inches about the base. Many bathroom faucets are only 2 inches or so, which means this one will give you substantially more clearance if that is an issue for you. But it is not too large or too high to get in the way, at least in our bathroom.The water controls themselves feel very solid. They turn easily with little force needed, but have a very smooth and crisp feel with a definite off position. Basically, the feel has exactly the kind of solid but effortless engineering you'd hope from Grohe.Note that you must get faucet handles to accompany this set. We got the cross handles which look great, feel solid, and have a classy, sort of "retro" look. The drain assembly IS included with this set, so all you need is this set and handles of your choice.We checked prices at several locations and Amazon was the best by a substantial margin, as of January 2011.As for installation, I can't speak to that because we had a plumber install it for us, along with other work. However, he apparently had no difficulties. Also, he had highly recommended that we get a Grohe (or Moen or Delta) due to standardized and available parts, unlike some other high-end brands where any replacement part has to be specially ordered.

AMAZING!

I purchased this item as a christening gift for my nephew. I thought it might be a keepsake type gift because he is only four months old. As soon as his gifts were opened and he was offered the rattle, he held it and didn't let go. It is lightweight, and his little hand fit perfectly around the center. He also seemed to like the rattle noises, which were quiet enough that he could rattle away without it becoming grating. It is cool at room temperature and will be perfect when he starts teething. I definitely recommend it!

Wouldn't choose this one again.

I've had 2 other bidets. They both had front-mounted faucets. I thought the bottom water faucet would be easier to use--wrong! I would not buy another with this style. Also, the edge-clean feature doesn't work on the left side. But who wants to have to take it out to return it & then have to reinstall another one? Our cat loves it--he always has to have a drink when he's in there, so I have to keep a little strainer over the water outlet to keep him from licking it.

Good Bidet

We have a new home that we designed ourselves (hard to find stock plans with room for bidets). We bought one of these bidets and an American Standard Cadet to see which one we like best. I prefer the Toto but my wife prefers the American Standard. We need two more and I think we will be buying one more of each.We purchased them together with "Moen 9200 M-PACT Widespread Bidet Rough-in Valve", one "Moen Eva" and one "Moen Brantford" handle sets. Everything works well together.

Steak Scalpels

Extrordinarily sharp knife set. I was able to cut clean through a steak just by holding the tail end of the knife between finger and thumb and letting the weight of the knife do the cutting. They aren't serrated because they don't need to be.If you drop one do NOT try to catch it, and be careful cleaning as they'll happily shred sponges, cloths and dish brushes too.

The BEST steak knives!!

After doing a lot of research on the different types of steak knives, I decided to pay the extra $ and buy this set. Let me tell you...totally worth it! Yes, they aren't cheap but I can almost guarantee you that you'll never have to buy another set for a VERY long time. Just an FYI, never buy serated steak knives...completely defeats the purpose. They just shred up the meat as you cut into it. I tried these knives for the first time a few weeks ago. I made stuffed pork chops and these bad boys are so sharp and smooth I simply used one stroke when cutting through the pork chop and that was it! It was so easy!!!! No need to sit there and cut back and forth multiple times to cut through a piece of meat. I can't say anything bad about this product. Well, the only thing I could say that I'm a bit sad that when I opened up the package there wasn't the Zwilling JA Henckels logo on the side of the handle like there is on the image above. However, the base of the handle has a metal cap and the logo. I just would have liked to see the color logo and name on the side of the handle like it shows in the picture. Yes, a stupid thing to cry about but I'm over it. =) I may have to go and buy another set of these steak knives to get me to 8!

I like the classic-shape blade better

Don't get me wrong, these are wonderfully sharp blades and they will last you a lifetime if you sharpen them correctly--for that they deserve a five star rating. But, the shape of the blades is a personal preference and should be taken into consideration before you make a life-long commitment.Maybe it won't matter to you if you're buying a good set of knives for the first time, but I have owned the classic shape for a long time and I like that shape better. The difference? On these blades, do you see how the blade curves down from the tip, then follows that curve for about two-thirds of the blade, then tapers in a bit? That's what I have a problem with--the little tapering in, then tapering back out to "meet" the hilt. On the classic shape the blade does not make that little inversion before finishing off.Regarding Henckels and regarding the expense? You cannot go wrong with Henckels and it IS A VERY GOOD DECISION to go for the more expensive knives. If you are looking at less expensive blades, remember: "You don't get something for nothing" and "You get as good as you give"! Look at your budget and spend a little MORE than you think you should....I believe you'll be happier down the road.It's always nice to actually hold a knife and get a feel for it before making it yours, but the return policy is so easy here that it's worth taking a chance.

Solid product, contemporary design

Amazon pricing and delivery cannot simply be beat, this is a very solid faucet with contemporary looks for the bathroom. All the knobs/connections are very heavy brass and appears to be able to provide years of use. The faucet spout is what drove the purchase as the wife wanted the waterfall ribbon look that is unique to only a few brands. After looking at Hansgrohe, Grohe, Toto, Cali Faucets we ended up using Jado for majority of the bathroom fixtures since their corresponding shower bodies turned out to be brass/steel rather than the plastic that seems to dominate the mid/high end markets (Hansgrohe/Grohe)The casting is all brass with the exception of the drainage cable which is this sort of plastic griping piece that when you pull it engages the sink stopper, but they provide instructions on replacement so hopefully that's nothing to worry about as its a better implementation than the cheaper faucets I've had in the last home I had which was supposed to be renovated which the faucet started showing its age within 5 years. Everything seems to be very smooth turning and functioning. The faucet does come with an Aerator which can be removed if you want that clear waterfall ribbon look, but it uses a very very small metric hex key and hook to remove.The finish is, to me very unique as this was the first bathroom remodel I did. Its Brushed Nickle but there's a sort of lacquer finish over the metal which protects it. A call to Jado did confirm that all finishes other than Chrome has a lacquer to it since its metal surface (same goes for my shower body/trim/tub spout). Which means that cleaning this thing requires something in the likes of GelGloss.. so its neither negative/positive since you are moving into the upper end of plumbing products and something this expensive (list) you would probably take care of more carefully anyway.used for a few months already and really like this.

An excellent faucet set

We purchased two "MOEN 4938CP Castleby Two Handle Lavatory Faucet with Drain Assembly, Chrome/Polished Brass" to replace aging Delta faucets in our master bath.These are substantially better than the builder models they replaced, finishes are very well done, both packages contained all the parts they were supposed to contain.These are sold by DealYard. Great service, although when you order more than one unit their ordering software didn't let us enter a quantity, we had to order single units twice. DealYard shipped a second faucet set as soon as I emailed them though.

Nice looking, quality finish and construction

I purchased this as a Christmas gift and just installed in on a pedestal sink. The "builder's special" faucet that was included with the home was in dire need of replacement. I was very happy with the packaging and quality of the components. The handles have a nice weighted feel when you turn on/off the water. The faucet hangs out a nice distance into the bowl and the water is released at a slightly forward angle. This eliminates having to bang your knuckles on the sink bowl when washing your hands. :-)I did not replace the drain portion to save aggravation. You can tie the new pull to the existing stopper if it does not need replacement. The new drain goes on the parts shelf for when one actually does need to be replaced.No complaints about DealYard, it arrived promptly.

i ordered the tub around new years, i was told it would not be to me until 01/15/13. the tub arrived today 01/08/13. a week early. early is always better than late! the freight company was great, they called the day before to let me know it was going to be delivered the next day. about 20 minutes before delivery the driver called to let me know that he was close to my house to make sure i was there. he arrived just after talking to me with my tub. he was very helpful putting it where i wanted it. i would recommend this purchase to anyone interested in a tub purshase from amazon (even contractors) the purchase and experience was great. thanks amazon

Great watch, but some things to consider..

First off, this watch is awesome. It's huge, it's quality, and it looks great. The only reason I am writing this review is because I haven't seen any reviews hit on some important points...First off, if you are left-handed (meaning you wear your watch on your right hand) this watch may be an issue for you. Most often a watch with the crown knobs on the left would be considered a "left-handed watch", but since this watch is so large it's really meant for the opposite. Due to the size, when worn on your right hand the knobs can push into your hand and cause some discomfort. It's not enough for me to return it, but it is worth knowing before making the purchase.Second, Nixon has terrible customer service. Lucky enough these watches are well built, but if you are planning on swapping bands or changing colors think again. Nixon does not allow you to make any changes as it "ruins the exclusivity of the product". This is BS and just means that if they allowed this, people would never buy the more expensive ones and just swap bands with their own. The watch also has 26mm band width, which makes it increasingly difficult to find 3rd party bands to swap out. You can have them custom made, but they aren't cheap. Ebay does have some Nixon brand bands from time to time, you just have to keep your eyes open.Other than that, the watch is amazing. I love the look and feel of it. Its great for diving and the water and also looks great for casual use. I'd recommend, just if you are a lefty you might want to go for the 42-20 instead.

Great Little Sink

I was designing a very tight powder room in a 100 year old house, this sink was perfect. Very small, good looking and it fit. Also purchased an American Standard Cadet compact toilet to go with it and was very concerned with ordering toilet and sink online with potential shipping damage. No problem, both items came double boxed in 2 days, good job Amazon. However, please note that center faucet hole is only 1" diameter and most faucets will not fit. Diameter of hole was not specified. I purchased a Hansgrohe Talis C Lavatory faucet, also from Amazon, and had to drill a 1 3/8" diameter hole with a diamond bit for the faucet to fit. No problem, piece of cake but be forewarned and be very, very careful. We are getting lots of compliments on this tiny little sink, very unique, highly recommended, great job Amazon.

NatoriSilk designs and fabric is the best ever. I have an Asian inspired home and these make the bed so much more wonderful, soft and durable too. It IS expensive, but I find it on sale and piece it together.
