Very Full sound

I have two home theater setups in my house. One is a 5.1 and the other is a 7.1. Both systems have Cambridge Soundworks suuround sound speakers. My 7.1 system uses a Yamaha receiver that has HDMI so I utilize it, along with my PS3, to get HD audio through Blu-Ray. I was noticing that I was not getting a full sound from my center channel which was a CS MC150 center speaker. I tried switching it with my other CS center speaker from my older 5.1 setup but saw no difference. In my opinion, the sound was very tinny. And for a center channel, you don't want that since it is the primary speaker for home theater.I decided that I had made a mistake by not investing in a better center channel so I started looking for a replacement. A neighbor of mine has the Definitive Tech. Pro Cinema 600 setup and it sounds pretty good compared to my setup. The center channel seemed a bit small so I hit the local Magnolia to check out other center speakers. I tried brands such as Mirage, Klipsch, Polk and tghe Definitives. To me, the best sounding and most full sounding speaker was the DT Pro Center 1000. I was looking to spend about $200 so this fit right into my bugdet.I hooked it up to my system and immediatley heard a huge difference from my older CS center channel. I guess the one inch bigger size in the tweeters/mid range makes a huge difference as now I hear a much fuller sound that completely fills my room. I also find that I need to run the receiver volume lower due to the full sound. For a center channel that does notg have a built in subwoofer, it handles lower sounds very well.I am very happy with my purchase and will probably begin to upgrade to all definitive speakers in the future. Will probably go to the pro cinema 800 for the surriunds and maybe a 1000 sub. Great speakers!!!

Best Center near the money

I purchased this center channel after weeks of looking for the best sound at an affordable cost. After hearing many items from Klipsch, Polk, Infinity, Mirage, Bose (boo)....the clear choice was this ProCenter 1000. Nothing within $200 dollars of this speaker (besides the 2000)sounded within the same star system to me. I didn't stop at it the first time around though, I checked different setups at different Bestbuy locations because the rooms sizes differ. This speaker always impressed me. Don't waste your time on the center channels between $100-350 ($350 or so for the ProCenter 2000). If you don't want to fork out $350 or give up the extra space, get the 1000.

Not quite as impressive as I was expecting from the reviews - but a good solid center speaker.

I really wanted to get the ProCenter 2000 but space limitations forced me to go with the 1000. With the reviews here, I was pretty sure I would be happy even with it. But I guess that I was expecting more than is realistic to expect from a speaker this small. Overall, it sounds very good. No real complaints. But I was expecting a WOW speaker, and this is merely a very good speaker. And not super cheap either.The pros: It is VERY clear on the vocals and sounds good.The cons: It doesn't have as much PUNCH as I was expecting and not as much low-end as I was hoping for based on the specs.I would recommend it if space is a problem, but if you have the cash and the space, I'd get the 2000 model instead.

Wow, makes bessey look like a harbor freight special

I am throughly impressed with these clamps. Having owned Bessey, Jorgeys, Woodcraft generic (Green ones), and now these. The Jet clamps outperform in almost every aspect. I learned of these from The Wood Whisperer (Podcast) and had to give them a try. Here are the differences that I noticedThe Jet clamps have a trigger for fast adjustment and hold vertically without falling like my besseys after a few years of use. (Another reviewer posted that also) Nothing more frustrating than holding your face frame in one hand and having the clamp close/open in the other.I never thought that I would use the measurement on the side, but now I use it all of the time. I measure my project and place blue tape an 1/8" less than the width to keep the glue off the clamps. It is also nice to have all of your clamps opened to the same size when clamping a large face frame or projectThe size of the parallel surfaces dwarf all other clamps I own.The bar never bends like the rest of my clamps when clamping 8/4 stock.The handle is far superior to the bessey wooden handle. You can actually grip this one. Once you know it is tight, if feels like you could go 3 or 4 turns more. Almost enough to break the wood.Some other Jet features:Benchdogs. Another feature I thought I would never use, but when clamping up panel doors, it is nice to have your clamps secure and square already. Really, it saves me 2-3 minutes each door.Spreader. Eh, I've used it a few times on large cabinets that are out of square. The clamps are easy to switch around.Final thoughts. If you are going to invest in clamps, invest in the Jet Parallel Clamps. You won't be sorry!

Jet Clamps the best

I have just about every brand of clamp at my business [...] and I use Jet clamps from 24" to 60" exclusively now every day, all day long, working with 1/64" accuracy.With out a doubt we find the Jet clamp superior in every way and have been using them for 3 years. The height off the table is perfect, ditto the stiffness, backing the jaw off slack or under tension is perfect, setting the jaw is faster by a significant margin than any other clamp and boy does it clamp!Once in a while a product comes along that really works well and this is one of that class. I highly recommend Jet clamps and had they been my first clamps it would have saved me a lot of money and time. I have bought other Jet products based on these clamps performance and to be honest not all of them are not as great as their clamps.Respectfully, Tom Boyce

25.5" Actual Clamping Capacity

I searched for this information elsewhere and could not find it...hopefully it is useful to someone.The actual clamping capacity, though listed as 24", is closer to 25.5".The lower jaw (the one that moves) has four cross-braces in it, in pairs of two. If the jaws are opened wide enough that the lower (distal) pair falls off the bar, the clamp will no longer be able to provide any clamping force. However, opening the clamp as wide as it will go without with the lower cross braces falling of the clamp bar, the jaws sit just shy of 25.5 inches. Tightening down the clamp moves the cross-pieces away from the end of the bar (proximally), so the full range of motion is available from this position (~25.5 to 24.5).Aa others have remarked, the build quality on these is fantastic. Better even than the Bessy clamps I have used. I had no issue moving the clamp along the bar as some reviewers seemed to have trouble with.TL;DR--the clamp can easily clamp a 24 inch workpiece, and squeeze in a 25.5 inch one.

Out-Rage-ous! Truly worth every penny. No Lie!

You will love the Definitive Technology Mythos Gem Loud Speakers. I promise. The clarity is crystal. Sharp voice reproduction and tight response when coupled with other DT Mythos line speakers or a DT Super Cube subwoofer. The entire Mythos speaker line needs a sub to bridge the wonderful mid and high freq. tones to the super lows of a sub, but well worth the trouble and money. I bought two Gems for surrounds in my Home Theater and two Mythos Sixes for fronts and one Mythos Seven for a Center Channel and Oh My! I popped in The Matrix: Revolutions DVD and my system came immediately to life. The DT's turned my entire DVD and CD collection into something completely new. Like I never heard them before and I didn't have a bad system before. It just bodes well for the greatness of DT's speakers. Well made, attractive and relatively compact... Don't underestimate the sound that come from the Gems and the rest of the Mythos line. You don't need all the Mythos speakers to get great sound, but it will rock you to the floor if you do. Don't Be Fooled by their Size

The Mythos gems are competent mid-level surround speaker within a remarkably compact housing. After weeks of researching, I settled on Definitive Technology's Mythos line of speakers. Despite most of them being released several years ago, they still have a modern look. However, the main attraction is value. Many of the silver-finish Mythos speakers are easy to find on sale for over 50% off. Even at full MSRP, they perform very well for their price. My configuration is: 2x Definitive Technology Mythos 1 Tower Speaker (Single, Silver) fronts, 1x Definitive Technology Mythos 3 Center Speaker (Single, Silver) center, 2x Definitive Technology Mythos Gem Satellite Speakers (Pair, Black) surrounds, 1x Epik Sentinel subwoofer (Def Tech supercubes are slick and good for their size, but overpriced). My receiver is a Denon AVR2310CI 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity (aka Denon 890). It has more than engouh power for me, I usually listen at -20 to -30 db.The Mythos gem is no longer easy to find in silver, so I purchased them in black. When I first unwrapped them, I felt disappointed with their size. The other Mythos speakers were gigantic compared to these little babies. However, once I heard them in action, I was quickly swayed. They are clear and punchy. Plus, they fit neatly out of the way. They deliver a vibrant voice to NFL stadium applause or distant gunfire and round out the soundstage with impressive realism. Size can be an important factor for surround speakers, and I can't imagine finding anything smaller and better. However, I would recommend checking out the Gem XL's or even consider using Mythos 1's for surround speakers if size is really not an issue. The prices between the three are similar, epsecially factoring in the price of stands for the Gems (if needed).Overall, the Mythos Gems are amazing performers for the size and a good value for the price, though nowhere near the insane deal you can get on the silver-finish mythos speakers. They are excellent performers for a $2000-$2500 budget. If you can find them available in silver, they may be an even better deal.

My hair grew 6" in 4.5 months

My sister-in-law had an open house for her chiropractic practice & was giving these out as samples. No one took any, so she sent me home with the box. It took me two and a half months to get through all of them, so I wasn't taking them every day. The month prior I got a horrendous haircut (my hair had been 30" long and all the same length, and the stylist butchered my hair, to where some of the "layers" were bob length). I also got pregnant the month I started taking these, so I know that helps hair grow faster too, but this was ridiculous. My hair grew 6" in 4.5 months. The stylist was shocked, as was I. My nails are also way better on these vitamins than they are on the Isotonix prenatal that I usually take.

Life Extension Mix is a better product

I went to a holistic doctor to have saliva testing and blood work done to determine what my nutrient deficiencies were. She sold me these out of her office and as you can see they aren't cheap at more than a $2 per day. You take an AM packet and a PM packet everyday. Thus this box is a 30 day supply. After taking them for a month, I saw little to no difference in energy, memory, weight, cravings, hair, nails, you name it. So I started to compare the ingredients to high quality vitamins on the market and found these were about as lame as centrum. Besides the fact that these are not specific to my needs and had to be supplemented with the things I really am deficient in, these have in many instances ingredients that are not bio available. Some things I REALLY don't like about them is too much vitamin A, not enough vitamin D, B1, B3, B6, biotin, pantothenic acid, magnesium, zinc, chromium, etc. Of the many high end vitamins on the market, I am switching to Life Extension Mix. 100 tablets $16, but I need 4 bottles per month since you take 14 per day. Savings at least $20 per month. BUT I also save the dollars I have to spend on additonal Vit D and iodine, zinc and magnesium. I also choke down a few less pills per day. I will repeat the tests in 3 months to see if the nutrient levels are where they should be. Update, it's now November and the resulting nutrition tests were better but I replaced the Life extension with a totally natural vitamin (mega food)after discovering that even Life Essentials has some synthetic vitamins in it. I reduced my star rating on Alpha Base to two stars after further research and time showed how ineffective they were. Huge difference on Mega Food vitamin and only one pill per day supplemented with the exact vitamins I need. I stick to high quality natural vitamins now that I see what a huge difference they make. I read several quality medical reports explaining how synthetic vitamins act like drugs, with side effects, and actually do more harm than good.

OMG!!!

I don't write many reviews but, seriously, this thing transforms the home movie experience to a completely different level. If you're like me you've probably thought that as long as the sub was pretty tight and not too weak or boomy than that's all you need. I had a Klipsch Synergy 12-inch sub in my previous house and thought I knew what a home theater was. WRONG!! Pair this with 4 good ceiling speakers (don't know what they are, but they're not junk--were installed by previous owner) and a Pro Center 1000 (yes, the 1000 is all you need for INCREDIBLE sound and loud, clean dialogue) and you've got a room for unbelievable pure cinematic pleasure! BTW, my room is a large media room 20 x 21, and the receiver is an older Denon AVR 2800 (brought from old house). Also tested the ProSub 800 and the Polk wireless.....the Polk was worthless and the 800 was solid but not even close to the same league as the Supercube III. Movies are now an event at my house! Hope this helps someone.

Crisp & clean sub - perfect for a smaller room

If you want a boomy, rattle the neighbor's house sound, then this Supercube is not for you! Its tight, and crisp bass make it an excellent choice for a bedroom or small room HT set-up. It delivers well for both music and movies. As a plus, Definitive Technology's customer service is the BEST. Most small replacement parts for their speakers are sent out free. Warranty service, if ever needed, is painless and prompt.

Jet parallel clamps

The Jet clamps represent an improvement over the similar Bessey clamps. The Jets have a trigger you pull to move the clamp body along the bar, whereas the Bessey clamps require a hard-to-describe hand motion that can be difficult to do one-handed. They are otherwise pretty similar.

Great Bargain for Mechanics- Pros and Saturday DIY's

I bought this kit for my brother as a Christmas present, since I had several similar tools for front end work on my Hondas and F150. My brother was always borrowing these tools, so I knew he could use them and I could get my tools back!We looked the tools over and they seemed to be of the highest quality andmy brother has verified that they work well too, since he replaced 2 tie rod ends in the week he got the gift.The kit has 5 tools in it and this is a great bargain because it is cheaper than just 1 of the tools sold separately (if you can find them).Also, these tools allow you to disassemble tie-rods and ball joints without damaging the rubber boots. So, get rid of that crappy pickle fork!I highly recommend this Service kit.

Great set of tools for front end work

I bought this kit to rebuild the front end of my 1965 Mustang. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. The tools are very well made and will take a lot of torque on the screws. I feel I put them through a pretty tough workout breaking apart a 45 year old front end, and the tools took it well. If you are concerned about quality of this kit- don't be, It's real nice.

Expensive! Instead use...

In a desperate attempt to clear my face, I spent a few hundred dollars on the Zeno device and replacement tips. The zeno works if you get the occasional blemish, however if you have more than one, it's very expensive to keep replacing the tips. I found I was using it all over my face. I am now an esthetician and have learned a great deal more about acne and skin. A cheaper and more effective alternatives to Zeno are as follows:1. Spot treat blemishes with 5 or 10% Benzoyl Peroxide cream. This releases oxygen into the pore so that bacteria can't live. It also helps the skin shed dead skin cells (that cause pores to become clogged) faster.2. Use LightStim blue acne light nightly. This kills the p.acne bacteria under the skin, helping to clear current acne and preventing future breakouts. The light costs about $250, but never needs replacements bulbs or maintenance. This is the skin care purchase I have ever made.3. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a gentle scrub or enzyme.Hope this helps all clear skin seekers!

zeno is the least invasive solution to pimples that i know! give it a try! the idea behind it seems simple...heat the exterior of the pimple to a bit more than 100 degrees to kill the bacteria and start the lesion on its way to healing! my kids and their friends rave about it!

These replacement tips are hard to find and I'm happy that Amazon has them. The shipping was extremely fast and I am happy with the product. I wish the tips were less expensive but that is an issue with the Zeno company itself.

What's in a Name..

Inflamma-bLOX is a great product that naturally removes/hinders inflammation. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease last year and since then my doctor put me on it. I can't say that my good results are solely based on Inflamma-bLOX, but I know that it helps.

Excellent for RA

My Accupuncturist recommended this product as part of my natural approach to healing my RA. I can tell you I was already about 60-70% healed from a modified elimination diet, tailored to my specific food intolerances. I also was taking Ultra-InflamX by Metagenics, which did a lot to help my healing. Then I added InflammaBlox on top. InflammaBlox took me from 70% healed to 95% healed in terms of pain and mobility. It is a fantastic product and I recommend it to anyone with any type of arthritis.

holy crap. In a good way, though!

I built my home new in 1994 and always kicked myself for not installing all the high tech audio, video and ethernet, but this year I was fortunate enough to start a remodel that would effectively remove the drywall in all of my existing living floor, so I decided to do it right while I had my chance!my research started on in wall/in ceiling speakers, I have been a klipsch and Boston man for more than a decade, but always loved def. tech. as well. After seeing the offerings from Klipsch with the R1650 and R2650C speakers, I really couldn't bring myself to buy a Klipsch speaker without a Tractix® horn on it, especially at the price of the R2650Cs.the Definitive UIW63/a has been in production for a long time at this point, from 2005 as far as I can tell but they are aging like fine wine. the 2650s don't sound as good as these, and they don't have the even frequency response (or low range) these have.the Def. Techs also have better rough-in brackets although they are still hideously overpriced. the stamped metal is very rigid and helps eliminate all the bad stuff you don't want in your sound versus the polycarbonate klipsch brackets.after debating a long while, I put aside the thoroughly reviewed and generally well liked Klipsch speakers and abandoned the idea of Boston since the few I found were too expensive. I ordered 16 of these new in packages of 8 (contractor pack) as well as two pair from amazon sellers that were new in box but never used (2006 production versus the 2011 dates on the amazon.com contractor packs).getting them home, I ordered def. tech rough in brackets to use because I wanted an acoustic chamber and vapor barrier, and it was much easier to make with the bracket (using R3 foundation insulation board, loctite and nails for form foam boxes around the speaker backs to improve performance, increase R value, keep the blown insulation from getting in the speakers, and for code to attic spaces.I started the burn-in process with these in a makeshift bench: speaker in sheet rock in front of the bracket with a box on the back.at first, they sounded good, but completely lacked low range, but as I kept throwing more and more at them and the hours passed, they set and my god do they ever sound beautiful.no range is overpowering on these. the trebels are in check, midrange is pretty good for a 6.5 and when installed properly, the low range is acceptable as well (especially if you have them 9 feet on center from one another in a 10 foot ceiling).in the end, I did wire my home for two 8" Micca speakers which I run as low range woofers just to pad the only range that lacks a tiny bit on these 63s (which is fine, hey they're still 6.5" drivers.)Other thoughts:* these are 4.5" deep, waaay deeper than most speakers this size, or bigger, so be prepared for that when you do your survey* they go down to 27Hz, substantially better range than even most competitors higher end 8" speakers.* don't pay more than $115/each for these new. they're worth every penny even at higher prices, but the can be had new from Definitive for that.* look no further, these are brilliant.* use 14 gauge wire, no need to over kill like I did with 12 gauge for 50 foot runs.*always wire more than you think you will ever need, you'll thank yourself later.system overview2x Pioneer VSX-1021KNiles MSA-1020x UIW/63A2x Micca 8" low range w/old sony 2ch amp driving2x Klipsch AW650 deck speakers2x Klipsch RB-811x Sunfire Jr.12 gauge CL3 wirevolume rhiostats on deck and in bathroom, main areas volume/source controlled with pioneer iphone app.

Satisfied with UIW63/A as rear ceiling speakers

I purchased a pair of the UIW63/A in-ceiling speakers to function as rear surround units for my home system. They are accompanied by front Definitive Techonology bi-polar speakers, a subwoofer and center speaker and are fed by a mid-priced Onkyo AV unit. The sound is great for this setup with the only apparent missing content is the mid frequencies (although tested by ear only). I recommend these speakers for similar set ups. They were very easy to install with pre-wiring and are non-obtrusive. My family is very happy with the overall home theatre and music listening environment, although it can be very loud in the upper story of our home. The installation and user manual for the speakers from Definitive is generic, short and non-informative, but a quick Google search or Youtube will assist greatly.

Only 1 problem

Only problem is there a little smaller than standard 6.5" speakers. Would not cover a 6.5" standard ruff in bracket. So I kept them for a while and installed in a remodel. Worked great and sounds great!!!!! Highly recommend for "remodel only"
