They are so high on price, but after endless searches for something similar, I bought them. Simply stated....these are worth it. I used to have to guess when I was close to muscle failure so I could get it back up on the stands when I was bench pressing. Now, I can give it hell and these things catch it if I can't get it back up. Working out alone, its like your own personal spotter. They work on carpeted floors, if you are wondering, tried and true. I pushed the limit on my workout and used this device twice in 4 sets to get me to failure level on my benching..... they hold up. Put the bar anywhere on it and the gravity holds it down, it doesn't tip. If you work out alone, spend the cash, I'm not sorry I did, I can work out to complete muscle failure now. I put these 3 or 4 inches inside the area of my bench stands and when I can't get it back up, I just put it back a little bit and put it down. If you work out alone, GET THESE! you won't regret it.

I purchased a pair of TDS Safety Stands. Now I understand why they were so inexpensive. The workers that manufactured the stands did not wait to the paint dried on the stands before the stands were wrapped in the bubble wrap. So the paint job has the pattern of the bubble wrap imbedded into the paint in most places. I was given the option to return the stands. They work fine.

By bpm
These stands are built really solid. The company said they can hold 1000 lbs. and they come with a lifetime warranty from ny barbell; the shipper. My rationale for purchasing these was because I own an excellent squat/bench stand (sorinex) with no safeties on it. I figured I could sink around 500 bucks into a quality power rack or just pick these up for a fraction of the price and make my stands as functional as a power rack. I have started training with heavy singles and max poundages and wanted to be safe. With these stands I can go to failure and not be worried; great for training intensity purposes. Today I kept increasing my bench max, and at 275 lbs. I couldn't get past my sticking point...so I just lowered the bar onto these stands placed on each side of the bench...worked great. Just as a side note, many sites recommended using saw horses as safeties. When I looked at some different models at the store...I could not believe how shaky and unstable they were. So then I purchased these. So I think if you just have squat stands and not a power rack, these safeties are a good purchase if you want to feel safe about increasing your training intensity.
