Astounding Sound!

I set these up as part of my whole house sound system. I am using them in some large rooms as both main speakers and as surround rear speaker. I also have them in a very large 3 car garage in the ceiling.I have other brands that I am using in other places which makes it easy to evaluate the difference. These speaker produce an amazing sound, filling the room with sound that seems to come from walls and areas where there are no speakers. The Bi Polar technology does wonders! I now wish I had used them everywhere. The sound experience is so much better. Usually I take my friends to the garage to demonstrate the fabulous sound even in an area that is know for great acoustics. The smile that comes on their face when they hear the sound tells it all!

Really good sound!

I was worried at first about ordering in-wall (ceiling) speakers at first, because I have DF's stand alone speakers that just sound awesome. But since I had no room in the back I have decided to put those in the ceiling. And I have to say I am very pleased. My wife especially like them cause they are pretty much invisible. But in wall or not - get them as big as you can effort - the sound is that much greater!

Good Speaker for Side or Back Surrounds

These speakers will work for anyone looking for a powerful little in wall speaker with good dispersion pattern for side speakers or back surrounds. They would work best in a smaller room. For bigger rooms go for the RSS II. I'd prefer that they used a flat wall cover instead of the raised grill ( sticks out about 1 inch from wall).

Excellent

My vision was declining rapidly and my eyes were always tired. In less than one year I went from +2 to 2.75.Since I started taking 4 Sight together with Super Zeaxanthin by LifeExtention, I see very big difference in clarity of my vision including at night, and my eyes don't get tired as they used to. By the way, I only use 2 caps in the morning, as I forget at night, and maybe because I weight only 110 pds. it seems to be enough.

Few if any subs in brick and mortar stores can touch this

I've owned a lot of powered subwoofers over the last 15 years.M&K, Polk, Infinity, Cambridge Soundworks, Yamaha, Boston Acoustics, Advent.None of these, with the exception of M&K have a sub on the market that can touch this subwoofer. Deep extension, oodles of power and sweet looking to boot.As another reviewer noted, it probably doesn't weight 75 pounds on its own. In the box, yes, thats the weight. Out of the box it's 63 pounds. Still a very hefty sub especially when you consider its crammed into a 14" squared box. I emailed Definitive Technology to get some clarification on the performance specifications on this sub.Although it's advertised everywhere that it will reach down to 13Hz, the useable frequency response is down to a more reasonable 20Hz -3db anechoic measured. So, in your room you may expect to see this output or even better if your room is on the smaller side (under 1500 cu.ft.)The 10" driver weighs in at over 21 lbs. That's one heavy driver.I'm extremely satisfied with the performance and can recommend it without reservation. However, one thing I do have an issue with is the auto-on feature. I like to listen at low volume now and again. When I do this, I lose the bass response in my system because this sub requires a stronger signal to turn it on. I think Definitive kind of blew it on this one by not offering a bypass feature that allows this sub to be constantly on instead of needing a signal to kick it into gear.Other than that, this thing is truly a stellar performing subwoofer.

Compact cabinet for so much sonic energy created. This sub woofer rocks the house. The first time we heard it kick in we thought the sounds were coming from a truck or plane outside the house. Great controls for cross-over, phase, etc. Good selection of connection methods too.

Good subwoofer

This was purchased as the sub for a system in which I have 3 Mythos Tens for front left/right/center channels and 2 Mythos Gem XLs for surrounds. I have a longer review of the Mythos Tens for those who are interested.This is a good subwoofer. Relatively compact, powerful, tight bass response. Easily rattles the walls when I wnat it to in our 14'x20' family room that is open to the rest of the house. In my system I crossover at 80 Hz, which seems to be about ideal for the speakers in use.

Excellent, crystal clear sound, beautiful, well built speaker!

I've always been a huge audio fanatic and borderline audiophile to the best of my ability. I don't have tons of free time to devote to my audio facination as I work as much as 55 hours per week but I do devote a big chunk of my free time to listening to music and watching Blurays.I am using a Pioneer VSX-9040TXH receiver with 110 watts per channel which I have also reviewed on Amazon. It is a phenomenal mid-grade receiver around the $500 mark with excellent sound quality. I would highly recommend using at least a good mid-grade receiver with these speakers. Before I bought three Mythos Eights for my L,C,R channels, I owned the Energy Take Classic 5.1 speaker system which is somewhere around $400 for the complete package. I really loved my Energy's and I still do think they are probably one of the best speaker packages in the $400 price range. I was very worried when I ordered the Mythos Eight's without hearing them that they would sound about the same or even possibly sound worse than my Energy's. But to my relief they definitely sound much better than the Energy's! I think the biggest differences will be wider soundstage, more realistic midrange and much more powerful. So at this point in time my speaker system is a mixture of the Energy Take Classic 5.1 system (subwoofer and surround left and right channels) and the Mythos Eights (L,C,R channels). I will be upgrading to either a supercube I or 6000 as well as Mythos Gem XL's for the surround sound. I am confident it will make the experience that much better. The Energy sub and surrounds suffice for now but I know they are not up to par with the Mythos!I've been researching Definitive Technology products for around a year now and I have been anxious to own some of their products since the begining. I've read review after review of many different speaker brands and I try to figure out what is the best speakers sound quality wise within a somewhat reasonable price range. I was looking to spend no more than around $2k for a complete 5.1 system. Definitive Technology isn't known for being cheap on price but if you do compare them to most of the cheaper or similarly priced products you will be hard pressed to find much better sound quality. Especially something that is in an attractive, modestly sized speaker. I wanted something that wasn't huge and didn't take up tons of space in my living room but they didn't necesarilly have to be satellite speakers. The wall mounted Mythos Eights fit the bill for me. I have the left and right channels mounted on the wall which is what they are best suited for and the center channel just below the TV on a glass shelf pushed back as far as it will go so it is almost touching the wall. I felt like I liked the sound better when the center was pushed back to the wall vs all the way forward on my shelf.My room is around 11 feet wide by 22 feet deep with the right wall open to the diningroom/kitchen. I have the left and right channels about 6 to 7 feet apart. My couch is around 10 feet back. I ran the Full Auto MCACC with the microphone sitting ear level in my listening position. I would recommend using some sort of tripod as it will help give you more accurate results vs just setting it on some books or the couch. Once the tests were done I checked it's results to make sure it set it up right. It had set the Front and Center to LARGE and the surrounds to SMALL and a crossover setting of 80 hz. I changed the Front and Center settings to SMALL which is where definitive recommends these speakers and I would agree. I also raised my center channel volume as well as both surrounds about 2 or 3 db. I recommend double checking them manually with your own ears with the test tones. At this point I went to manual MCACC and reran the standing wave test as well as EQ professional using ALL CHANNEL ADJUST. I believe after changing speaker settings it may affect how those tests run. I could be wrong but I ran them anyways to be safe. I then checked the EQ settings and it had set the 125 HZ band for the front L and R channels at -8.5 db which I felt it was over adjusting. I ended up changing it to a more modest -3.5 db. All the other bands for all the speakers were within + or - 4 db which sounds realistic to me so I left them alone. I believe I have acheived near perfect settings.I have now owned my Mythos Eights for around 2 solid months and I could not be happier. I can definitely say they do open up more and more the more you use them just like the manual says. They do not need to be played at excessively loud volumes to break them in. All you're trying to do here is warm up the voice coils and tweeter. I would recommend running your sound calibration right when u get them and then run it again after you've had a solid month of good use out of them. I have watched a wide variety of Blu rays as well as a wide variety of Music on PandoraONE. Pay the 35 bucks and get PandoraONE vs regular Pandora as you will get much better sound quality. You will hear the difference between poor and excellent sound quality more than ever. There has really been nothing that I've been disappointed with so far. They perform equally well for both music and movies. I believe they are well worth $750 MSRP each but if you look around you can find discounts as well as refurbished models for cheaper. Check out bajawaverunner on ebay. He has a plethora of refurbished deftech products. I would imagine the newer Mythos NINE and TEN would have similar sound quality to the EIGHT. One nice thing about the Mythos EIGHT vs the TWO or THREE models is obviously the larger drivers but also it comes with a ceramic coated heat treated tweeter which is the same one used in the Mythos ST and STS towers. I have to say the trebble is just how the website describes it: They "produce extended highs that reveal nuance and shimmer without a trace of edginess". I couldn't agree more. The midrange I was worried about as I had read ONE expert review and the only negative comment he made about the EIGHTS out of his very impressed review was he felt there was some upper midrange sweetness lacking. After I ordered these I worried that I would not be exceedingly happy with the upper midrange but I definitely am. I have not noticed anything less than amazing throughout the whole audio spectrum. Although I have never heard speakers that cost many thousands of dollars. Obviously you will want to pair these with a high quality subwoofer as these speakers are not recommended for playing sound below 80 HZ. In other words, they are not made to create super low bass notes. 80Hz and beyond is incredible! I believe the Supercube I or 6000 would be a perfect mate. I'm sure there is something of even higher sound quality for an unaffordable price but for most audiophiles and definitely ALL casual listeners will be thrilled beyond belief.

Not bad at all.

I bought the Mythos 8 to upgrade my existing system. The old system used the Synergy speakers from Klipsch for the center, rear surround, and front effect speakers. The Mythos 8 is noticeably more efficient and has a wider range as well. This unit works quite well as a center channel speaker, but it would be too harsh and it would lack the low-end punch to serve as a main. Its not fully broken in yet, but I do sense a growing clarity at the low end after about 20 hours of use.The front panel is dark gray and the aluminum body can stand out if it does not match the rest of the system. However, since it is mounted behind and above the screen, this is not really an issue. Accepting this finish reduces the price considerably, and even if you have black speakers for the rest of the system, you can replace the front cover with a black one to blend in if n eeded.

Superb sound

I am very pleased with imaging and depth of sound. I combined Mythos 1 and 6 for front, Mythos 5s and Mission omnipolars for rear. Adcom amp for front, Hafler for the rear. Previous speakers were Infinity Kappas. The Mythos are asethetic and sound musical. Also great for cinema. No complaints. Worth the price.

RF-82 for 2.0

My RF-82 pair serve as a stand-alone units for music listening (I also have a Klipsch HD-1000 set up in a smaller area for watching video).The receiver, a Denon 830, is located in the video room about 50 feet away, but even with that long cable run the RF-82s are capable of filling the whole house with sound. The RF-82 is remarkably more efficient than previous speakers I've had in the same location (Altec Model 9, Bose 501, and an amazing but doomed pair of KEF 107s, victims of six months of humid isolation following the levee failures in 2005). The KEFs had particularly crisp and strong bass, as would be expected with twin 12" drivers mounted in massive towers, but to my surprise I found the RF-82s to be both stronger and flatter, especially with extreme low end sources such as orchestral bass drum and pipe organs. These speakers even revealed previously undetected nuance in the "All Things Considered" theme song.Reviews and forum postings have no shortage of praise for the RF-82's ability with electronic and rock music, or as part of home theater system. But here the primary diet of my RF-82s is old-fashioned 2-channel orchestral and vocal material, and I am thrilled with the sound. Highs are sharp, as I expected from experience with other Klipsch products, but I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity across mid-ranges. The sense of placement with stereo material is remarkable. A listener can pick out a singer at "1:30" and not just "somewhere to the right". I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the remixed Beatles catalog sounds great coming through them.I would have liked to have heard these speakers side-by-side with the RF-63 and -83's, but I had neither the time nor budget.

So sweet they will bring a tear to your eye.

I matched these up with the RC-62 II, 2 RS-52 II, 2 RB-81 II, 2 RW-10d, and 2 pair of RB-51 for my wide and high front. The extremely helpful folks at Klipsch say that there is no problem mixing Reference and Reference II speakers. Check the Klipsch website to figure out the system you want to build. I would recommend the Reference line. I power all these with an Onkyo TX-NR708 receiver. Let me just say I will never again go to the movie theater to see a movie. Movies sound much better right here on my couch. I put on my Led Zeppelin live at Earls Court 1975 DVD to test out the new system when I first set it up and I have to admit, it made me cry. I have been to over 300 concerts and never heard sound like this. I have never been so proud to buy American. I am so proud that such a quality product is made right here in the United States of America. These speakers are worth every penny and more. You don't have to have all the matching speakers to appreciate these towers either. They sound amazing on their own. I just really can not express how impressed I am with these speakers. Some people don't like the sound of the Klipsch horns, and everyone has their own particular taste. I love the sound. I think these things are the best investment I have ever made. "Speakers an investment?" you ask. Thats right, I say investment because they keep giving back to me every single day. I can only imagine what the RF-7s would sound like in my house. I just couldn't pass up the cyber week deals on the RF-82 line as I paid about half price for most of the speakers through different sellers. Onecall, Vans, and Sound Distributers are great and all sell through Amazon. Just make sure you buy from an authorized dealer. Do yourself a favor and pick up a pair. You will not be disappointed.

Attractive, High Quality, Heavy speakers at a Fair price for Klipsch

Since I am a novice, I am not going to comment much on the sound quality of these; but, even I can tell they sound much better than the old floor standing Audio Polk's I replaced. I did a lot of research prior to purchasing & do feel/believe I have received speakers which are above the norm in quality and sound. Also, based upon comparison shopping amongst different Kipsch distributors, I am very pleased with the price I paid for them. These Klipsch speakers definitely provide me much satisfaction from the attractive look, apparent quality of materials, and great sound I am now enjoying. Highly recommend. a gem of a jewel cleaner

I LOVE this steam cleaner! WORTH MORE THAN I PAID! Purchased it after getting engaged and i clean ALL my diamonds and gem stones every other day with it. Easy to use, came with long tweezers and loop to inspect stones with before and after cleaner.I had some rings that had 10 years of hand cream and who knows WHAT under them to the point where you actually could barely SEE the stones! Now they SHINE! WHAT A DIFFERENCE the steam made! I even do my friends diamonds and they are impressed too. The only difficult thing is cleaning UNDER the stones on a ring but i would not part with this FABULOUS machine!

You are better off using a cheaper espresso machine

This machine produces steam.. So does a cheap $30 espresso machine. I used my good espresso machine and I also have a cheap one that I bought but haven't used in years. I tried the Jewel Jet and I was not impressed with the amount of steam and duration that it was able to produce steam. Ok does jewelery get clean from hot steam.. YES it does.. The review is about the product you are considering to purchase. So comparing the Jewel Jet to my good espresso machine was a joke, my good espresso machine out performed the jewel jet. Then I compared it to the cheap espresso machine and the jewel jet had similar performance. Ok so the bottom line, don't clutter your house with this machine.. Go get a espresso machine that you would like to use and spend $3-5 on a nice stainless strainer and now you own a machine that makes you coffee, espresso, cappuccino and cleans jewelery too... Only reason I bought the jewel jet was to see if it had the kind of pressure the jewelers steamers use, which it didn't. So bottom line use a espresso machine. I just saved you $200, you can thank me once your jewelery is clean :)What I do is put the jewelery in a regular jewelery/diamond cleaning solution for 3 minutes (while the machine is warming up). Take it out and brush it with the brush the cleaners come with and put it back in the solution for another 2 minutes. Take it out and use the machine's steam to clean the jewelery.. Use a lint free, absorbant cloth to wipe/dry jewelery. Then enjoy a cappuccino all with the same machine :)

Not quite as powerful as the professional steam cleaners, but it does work. Due to the lower power, it takes a little bit longer to get perfect results. Delivery was sooner than estimated, which is a plus.

Amazing product

I have always torn and bitten my nails. There is something magic about this product--it makes nails stronger and the urge to "attack" my nails is practically gone! It is very important to apply every day for at least two weeks and then as needed. I find applying most everyday helps the most.

Excellent Pick me up

Purchased this product after extensive research on coca tea and reviews from others on various brands. Upon arrival I made a cup for my overly tired feeling sick husband. After drinking the tea (two bags in 8oz) he said he felt alert and more awake. He was easily able to finish his day. He said it tasted good (no sugar or honey) and he usually does not like anything natural.

This table has everything I wanted.

I own one of these tables and had to comment on it when I saw it here on Amazon. This is the absolute best table for a home game. Why?1.) You want a padded rail. This table rail has excellent thick padding.2.) You want cup holders directly in front of your belly button, and mounted in the rail, not the playing surface. This one has them.3.) You don't want a fluted rail to lay your chips in like a craps table. Poker players stack their chips directly in front of the cup holder.4.) You want speed cloth on the playing surface, not felt. It's the top of the line surface and it will not pill up like felt. If you really want a felt-type surface, get really good billiard cloth from a pool table installer.5.) You want good firm padding under the cloth. Not the cheap padding that looks like there's oatmeal under the cloth. This table has the good stuff.6.) You want a round, not oval table for home games. If you're sitting at the end of an oval table, how in the world are you going to deal to the people at the other end??? How are you going to drag the pot? Oval tables are for games with a dedicated dealer sitting in the middle.You can't beat the price for the quality either. It's sturdy and well-made. Worth every penny. He could charge more and get it.

Better than I expected..

I'm generally satisfied with the product and quick delivery. Everything looks same as it is advertised. I love the fancy looking cloth and padding. I'm impressed with the details. The pattern on the cloth is not printed one, which means I don't have to worry about being pealed off. Cup-holders are perfect for a normal size bottle or can of beer/drink, but not a whiskey glass. And the cup-holders can be pulled out from the table for cleaning without hurting the padding. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that there is a chance to make this product even better.1. It is very considerate that the table comes with a piece of cloth for future maintenance. However, my table is grey but the extra cloth is red. I hope they can send me a cloth with right color.2. It would have been easier to understand if the seller had posted a picture of the bottom of the table. Anyway, it would be great idea if the table comes with extra supporting legs where the table is not directly supported by two folding legs. Mainly because the table is octagonal. The table is pretty sturdy on its own but there's a chance to be lifted towards one side or the other, where there is no direct leg support, when someone sits on that side and lean onto the table. And this is most likely to happen because this table comes with a nice padding to lean on. Also the table top might be bent down on the sides with no direct leg supports due to its weight and constant pressure by players. So I'm planning to install two wooden supporting legs by myself, which can be removed or folded when it's stored.3. It's technically not a suggestion but something you might want to think about. It comes with two folding legs with the locking mechanism using a bump and a hole on a metal bar. It is also pretty sturdy. But after you fold one leg, the other one is not folded completely because one has to overlap the other. So those bumps end up locating in the middle of flat metal and pushing away the bar. It is likely to loose that locking mechanism if you store the table like that for a long time. I'm probably not gonna fold one leg completely, instead I'll strap one leg to the completely folded one using a velcroed strap or something when I store the table.Overall, this is one of few product that it turns out better than I expected.

Best poker table for the money

Looked online for weeks trying to find a table that was not too expensive, had a good surface, padding and cup holders. This table has it all. Very happy with the table, friends and family love to come over and play on it. Have the feel of the casino in your own home without breaking the bank! I highly recommend this table and this seller.
