Product Description
Red Line's 20W50 Synthetic Oil is the ultimate high-temperature protection in Red Line engine oils recommended for street use and is good for engines that regularly run very high oil temperatures. It is also best for engines that run large clearances such as air-cooled engines or large-displacement, all-out racing engines that see occasional street use. Provides 25% more viscosity in bearings than petroleum 20W-50s. This oil is not recommended for use in cold climates where temperatures are at or below 10°F or -12°C and is not recommended for street use in production engines that see sustained oil temperatures below 225°F (those engines should use Red Line 10W-30 or 10W-40). Red Line uses the most stable components available and formulates products for wear protection and friction reduction across a wide range of engine conditions. Red Line's products are unique because they contain polyol ester base stocks, the only lubricants which can withstand the tremendous heat of modern jet engines. These synthetics have a natural multigrade property which allows our chemists to avoid bulking up an oil with unnecessary additive packages. Red Line Synthetic Motor Oils are designed to provide the highest degree of protection and cleanliness for your engine. Red Line uses the most stable synthetic components available and formulates their products for wear protection across a wide range of operating conditions. Red Line lubricants contain polyol ester basestocks, the only lubricants which can withstand the tremendous heat of modern jet engines, which makes our motor oil a necessity to properly lubricate a turbocharger or hot-running engine. The synthetic basestocks have a natural multigrade property, which means that large amounts of unstable polymeric thickeners are not required to manufacture our multigrades. Red Line Synthetic Motor Oils will provide better protection than a petroleum oil of the next higher viscosity grade under high shear conditions.

I have heard arguments for both Red Line and Amsoil. So I decided to try both. First, I purchased the Redline products and replaced ALL of my fluids in my 2009 Ultra Classic. I then rode cross country (including several days of hard riding through Death Valley and the Mojave desert. From Massachusetts to Santa Cruz, California and back. Over 15,000 miles total. I was on the road for two months. The bike ran great, I did not have any problems. This last year I rode to Sturgis (over 2,000 miles one way) and had ALL the fluids changed there to Amsoil. I got to say, the bile ran louder, the gear changing seemed harder. I noise increase was significant enough to cause me to conclude that I will forever use Red LIne products in my Harley. I am sold on them!

Using 5W30 as the manufacturer recommends, the car was using a quart every 700 to 800 miles. Mechanic explained that the manufacturers oil recommendations are a result of EPA mandates. However, he explained that in the real world, as an engine wears, a thicker oil is needed to seal everything better. He also had researched the synthetics (he had pages and pages of technical stuff) and he concluded that the Redline was the best he had found. After several months of using the RedLine 20W50, not only is my mileage about 1 to 2 mpg better than what is was (nothing else was changed, no tune ups, still using the same grade and brand of gasoline, and still driving the same), but I now only use a quart of oil about every 3,000 miles. And also, mechanic says I can safely extend oil changes to every 7,000 to 8,000 miles so I now only have to change oil every 6 months or so.It's a money saver in all respects.Thank you Redline!
