We have gone over the cliff for baby items that offer both a sense of modern design and environmental care. After reading the Eco-nomical Baby Guide, we decided to purchase high value baby items made from sustainable resources that would NOT be destined for the landfill after a couple of years. We purchased mostly second hand Stokke items (bassinet/crib, changing table/computer desk, tripp trapp chairs, and xplory stroller), glass bottles, wood grasping toys, and THIS Coco lounger. The stye of this thing is really incredible- a parent's foot or hand or simply baby's movement rocks it gently, creating a soothing, smooth motion for the times I need to put baby down (naps, showers, etc.). We have used it on our wood floors- perfect, but tile or firm carpet would seem to work as the surface, too. The seat holds baby snugly and comfortably, as it is designed as a perfect hammock, so the baby does not sit against the wood frame. The harness is high quality, comfortable for the little one and secure. We are extremely pleased with this lounger. It is in line with our philosophy of raising baby in a somewhat progressive/old-school approach- without any plastic vibrating gizmos and disposable junk. If you plan to use a lounger or rocker, the design and function of the Coco Bloom can't be beat. Considering the very high quality construction and durability, this item can be used for years and many many babies.
