Product Description

The Ortofon Nightclub II Cartridge builds upon the success of the original Ortofon Nightclub Cartridge. This Ortofon tonearm cartridge's numerous improvements and redesigned cosmetics bolster its status as one of the reigning industry standards for turntable cartridges. The Night Club II cartridge's improvements are 2-fold: first, the reengineered stylus and cartridge body are tuned to make the most of modern dance music; second, the increased output voltage requires less gain, providing cleaner sound reproduction and less susceptibility to feedback in live environments. Adding to the allure of the Nightclub II cartridge is its redesigned cosmetics, including an orange stylus and detailing on the cartridge body. The Ortofon OM Nightclub II Cartridge is compatible with all DJ turntables, and requires a standard headshell for mounting. The Nightclub II cartridge is also compatible with turntables that use a standard overhead mount (not P-Mount) cartridge.

5Good quality needle/cart
By David A. Maas
The packaging for each of these needle/cartridge package comes with a needle, a cartridge, small screws and a small screwdriver. It does not contain the headshell, which connects the turntable arm to the cartidge. I took my previous Shure needle/cart off of the headshell, and managed to carefully hook up the Ortofon version.I am extremely happy with these needles, but they aren't for everyone. The range of frequencies reproduced by this needle is noticeably better than my Shure M44-7s, and records take on more of a CD-compairable tone. This particular type (the eliptical needle), skips very easy when positioning the needle on an exact point on the record, and for that reason most DJs will want the spherical needle. Needle feedback is super-loud, but no one except the DJ can hear that. Overall it's really a very high quality sound, and it's a particularly afordable solution for people who need to do things like rip their vinyl to wav files, or anything else high fidelity.
