Don't let the photo fool you. The photo makes it looks flimsy, but this a a good solid machine that would be a welcome addition to any lifter's home gym. Like all the equipment in my home gym, this machine allows for a gym quality workout and the main difference is the equipment at the gym is designed to hold up to constant usage.Cons:The base in my opinion was way too long. I wound up hack sawing about 3" from both the front and back of both pieces of the base. Much better.Be prepared to load a ton of weight!! I find I need at least twice the weight I usually use at the gym. This required an addition trip to Sports Authority and an additional $200 in weight plates.The bar you stand on is narrow which I prefer, but some who prefer a wider one may have trouble adjusting. Also, there is no grip. I used a $3 roll of stair grip from Home Depot. Works great.Lastly, and this is for the manufacturer, an attachment which would clamp onto the weight support bar that would allow seated calf presses would be a great add on.Happy lifting.

This is a very good basic standing calf unit which is excellent for any home gym. Construction is even good enough for a medium size commercial gym. Rated only four stars the unit needs rubber bumpers between the weight carriage and the base legs. Also the unit is shipped with both standard and olympic weight carriages. Olympic adapters would save steel and shipping cost. Over all a very good purchase and highly recommended.

This has been a nice addition to my home gym. Sturdy, reasonable footprint and stable. Nice product. Box was damaged but a quick trip to the hardware store for replacement nuts and bolts was well worth it. I'd buy it again..., definitely.
