I used this UFL-1 flash with my Olympus 770SW camera extensively underwater. If the TTL signal from the camera reaches the flash, it works great. However, as I was not using the Olympus mount, to make the camera manageable while SCUBA diving, it was very difficult to know when the camera and the flash were lined up. Also, the red light seems to be on all the time if the flash is on. This is deceptive, since you don't know if it still recharging from the last photo, or ready.

A really good strobe for a beginner underwater photography. Its almost the same design as one of the Sea & Sea strobe but doesn't have the advance settings which I really didn't need too much. Otherwise this is a great strobe for anybody just pointing and shooting photos underwater.

While this strobe is made by Sea and Sea, it is supposed to have special features that make it work better with Oly camera's. I don't have an Oly camera, but did need some new strobes that would work with my Canon and Panasonic cameras.While these are supposed to not require a fiber optic cable, that would only work if the environment was very dark...but the units do have the standard Sea and Sea fiber optic plug in the bottom (not where one would expect it).With some very nice Ansmann rechargable batteries, shooting in ttl mode, the recycle time is faster than any camera is, and after taking around 1,000 images, I did not have a single misfire...For the price, don't know of any strobe that is as nicely made and works as well.
