By Arok5
I had been using a broken throne for over a year. It wasn't mounted well since it had broke and was wobbly and all of that. I finally realized it was time to get a new one. I did some research and found this Gibraltar one. I have been an extremely satisfied Gibraltar hardware customer for years. I have almost all Gibraltar Hardware for my entire set, as well as one of their racks. So I figured I'd try this throne. After having it for a few weeks now, I can't believe I waited so long to get a new one. This one is super rock solid built. Very sturdy, and extremely comfortable. Adjusts pretty easily, but once adjusted, it will never let you down by moving or readjusting. It not only has a regular tightening knob, but also a seperate additional locking mechanism that you can hand tighten with your drum key (same one you would use to tighten the drum heads, hardware, etc). This throne does not wobble, tip, or let you down even under the hardest playing experiences. Whether you a hard rock or metal guy who needs a super strong throne so you can give it all your weight so your legs can give your double bass drum pedals a work out, or you are a jazz muscian that just needs a comfortable balanced seat, you cannot possible go wrong with this throne.

By Bender
This seat has been a great seat for the price. Although I will warn the larger folks who are looking for seats.1. FOR VERY TALL PEOPLE - I am 6'7'' and I really have to sit tall in order to play the drums, so my legs are slanted down and my feet are in front of my knees on the bass pedal. This means I need a really tall seat, and even though this seat WILL adjust to being tall enough, you are right at the limit of the extension and it can feel a bit wobbly. Right now I am improvising by putting bed risers under the legs, and then setting it to be low, and now it feels super solid.2. FOR VERY HEAVY PEOPLE - I am also 350lbs, and the seat holds the weight just fine, without problems. It seems very sturdy and I don't feel like it will crack under my weight, which I can't say about most smaller furniture.3. Make sure you really want the motorcycle seat style. I think I would have preferred the round top, just to provide a bit more support under the legs while your using the pedals, but it is working fine.Overall its a great seat for average people, great for the money, and I would highly recommend it except for the things I mentioned above. When your as tall and heavy as I am, you almost can't even use standard seats like this. You just have to improvise with other furniture, such as a bar stool or something.

By J. A. Bibbings
This was a recommended throne by Amazon when purchasing my electronic drum set. I didn't do a ton of research, and just pulled the trigger seeing the high reviews. I wish I would have chosen a different model.I don't really care for the moto style. The shape of the throne shifts all of my weight to the rear. This, and some lack of padding, make my tailbone sore after a long session. I'm about 5'10 190lbs. I have another set with a cheapo round throne, and that has never caused me any issues. The throne itself is sturdy. The metal and hardware are top of the line, but to adjust the seat you need to remove a wingnut. There are thrones in this price range with spring loaded knobs that make adjusting up and down alot quicker, and easier.Over all, it's of solid build quality but it's not very comfortable, and there are nicer thrones out there for the money.
