I spent a lot of time thinking about this purchase for some reason. In the end, it was the best money I've spent. It works very well and saves a TON of time. My suggetions are...it is far better with dry leaves and grass. Wet doesn't work well and you'll find yourself cleaning it out all the time. Also, make sure you do not leave leaves and grass in the catcher bags. As they decompose and get wet, they have the potential of rotting out the baskets. I haven't checked yet whether you can get new baskets. I hope they do because I will eventually need them. Perhaps you should get backups now? Finally, I banged the side shoot against a tree and cracked it. It looks sturdy, but one bang and it has a crack in it. Be careful as you drive. Second finally, installation is very easy for the catcher itself...but putting the mulching blade on the deck takes some time and hassle. Doable for sure, but it is the hardest part of the install. All worth it though. I love this bagger.

Prior to my purchase of this product, I contacted MTD Customer Services as to whether it would work on older 50" Troy bilt Tractors and was informed that it would. During the installation, some problems arose and I again contacted Customer Services and was referred to their Engineering Group which told me that they would not recommmend the unit for use on a model prior to 2004. At present, the bagger is installed and working well following a few modifications and I am sure that it would bolt-up easily and perform well on the models it was intended for use on>

Product arrived quickly but I was not aware I would have to be home to sign for it. Spoke to trucking people and they allowed me to leave a note in leu of being home. The bagger is great, comes practically fully assembled. You do have to change the blades with the high lift blades provided. It is also easier to put the baffle on when the mowing deck is off the tractor rather than how the directions say to do it. The bagger works great, hardly a leaf in sight when you zoom over them. Very easy to empty bags. You will love it.Anthony
