As with all CIPA mirrors, they are QS9000 & ISO 9002 certified to meet the strictest standards. They are rust and corrosion resistant, and feature OE grade glass. In order to meet the OE standard for glass, these mirrors use first surface plating, which means the reflective chrome layer is plated on the front of the glass. The advantage is less distortion from having to look through the thickness of the glass, but a greater risk from surface scratches. This mirror directly replaces original equipment number F37Z17683A. I bought a pair of these mirrors to replace one that was broken on my '89 Ford Ranger. After I got them on, I found that I could not quite get the mirrors level. The ball and socket geometry just didn't have enough travel, so the mirrors slope downward 10 to 15 degrees from horizontal.

I purchased this mirror for my 1990 Ford Ranger. It was a perfect matchfor the original and am satisfied with the price and quality. The reasonfor the 4-stars instead of 5 is that the mirror only adjusts horizontallynot vertically. Would be best to have 2 extra hands for the installation.

I used this product, along with the drivers side mirror, on a 1992 Ford Ranger. Basically this mirror is a fine replacement for the original factory mirror. If the original stock look is important to you then I would suggest an NOS mirror since there are slight differences from the original. Although, if you just want to replace what you have and are not concerned with originality than this product will do fine. The only problem with this product was that it was supplied with a couple small sheet metal screws for attachment to the body. However, there is a bracket in the door of the truck that these screws are supposed to attach to, but these screws are (1) not long enough to reach the bracket, and (2) would permanently destroy the threads of the holes in the bracket if they could reach them. Thus, I reused the original torx screws, corroded and stripped out though they were.
