Red Line's D6 Automatic Transmission Fluid is recommended where the latest Dexron-VI is required, as well as where Ford Mercon SP, Toyota WS and Mercedes Benz NAG-2 fluids are specified. This product is for applications calling for Dexron VI/Mercon SP or below. I put this in my 1996 Taurus Wagon with Duratech 3.0L DOHC & AX4N automatic transaxle, which calls for Mercon V ATF. I used an ATP filter. I also filled 25% of transaxle capacity (about 1 gallon) with Lucas Fully Synthetic Oil Stabilizer. I noticed an immediate difference in how the engine and transmission perform together. The reduced friction achieved by adding clean, high-quality ATF allowed the transmission to shift at the designated shift points determined by the PCM. The transmission now quickly "does" mechanically what it is "told" to do by the PCM. I hope to find that the combination of the RedLine with the Lucas will help to reduce further wear on the transmission.

I drive a 2007 Toyota 4-Runner with a 4.7 liter engine and approaching 100,000 miles.Several months ago I had the tranny filter and the entire 4 gallons of transmission fluid replaced with BG synthetic.The result was very slow up shifts, and a clunking torque converter at stops and down shifts. None of this had occured before the fluid change with BG.After the replacement with Redline Synthetic, the change is remarkable. No noise, unbelievable smooth shifts. It feels like brand new transmission.I have nothing to gain....but I highly recommend this produst.

Red line says this works in mercon sp applications and it does. My 2004 Ford Excursion had 91000 miles on it when I bought it so I had no idea how well it had been maintained. I'm really a royal purple guy but they have nothing that is a dexron 6/mercon sp replacement. Red Line D6 works great in the 5-speed torqueshift tranny. It shifts smoother(especially when cold) and seems like it has it accelerates a little better.
