Flensted Mobiles are a traditional handicraft in Denmark. The first modern designer mobile was made there in 1954. Today Flensted Mobiles is based on the Danish island of Funen, the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson, where it creates its very own design fairy tales from the old village school in Brenderup. Listening to Mozart, Ole Flensted was inspired to design this mobile nearly thirty years ago. To be hung over a piano or in your favourite corner.

I love this mobile. It comes in the most attractive gift-like box, with each little group separately packed in tissue paper.Once I got it all unpactked (which took a while) and hung and balanced, I stepped back and just fell in love. It is the most delightful little thing to watch. It makes you happy just looking at it.

I've had this mobile for a few years now. I love its gentle movement and balance. It is well made although like many mobiles, strung with string.It is smaller and if hung in a larger room, will be dwarfed by the ceiling. We ended up putting it just off the kitchen in a hallway with our pantry and bathroom. It is visible from the kitchen and many other areas of our 'large room' but visually fits nicely in that area.It does get dusty after awhile so I just take it down and carefully run water over the whole thing. I supposed you could lay it on a towel and use air in a can but washing it was just as effective without tangling it.I just purchased Flensted Futura Mobile which has a larger visual impact but the two are very similar in theme so they could share a room.

I bought this mobile for my baby's room, I wanted a mobile that would transition to an older child's room and eventually to the rest of our house so I didn't mind the price tag on this. Now that I have it, I would pay twice this amount. The mobile is GORGEOUS and my son absolutely loves it. We've had it for a few weeks now and he still grins every time I spin it for him, he's totally entranced by this (and so am I).
