I bought this violin four years ago when I first entered high school and I needed something other than the cheap 100 dollar violin that I learned to play on and played for 6 years. I went to several music stores and browsed around, but when I saw this violin I fell in love. The picture does not do the violin justice. It is a gorgeous instrument with delicately inlaid purfling. It is very unique, and I've received a lot of compliments on it. However, of course the look of it is definitely not all you should focus on in terms of a violin. From my experience in these last few years, the Cremona is a huge step up from the sound of my student violin. It has a beautifully deep tone that is perfect for classical music, but is very adaptable. I personally love playing fiddle music with it because the sound is high and bright, and fun. I used the violin to play in my school orchestra, a smaller Chamber Orchestra in the community and in my violin class at a local elementary school. The price tag is hefty (I know) but I've had this violin for nearly five years, and I couldn't be happier with it's sound and look. It's a violin to keep for a lifetime.Hope I helped,Gabryel

I purchased this Cremona SV-1750 in 2004 for around $1100. It has now gone up in price by $600 and is worth every penny. It is wonderfully crafted with excellent tone woods.I had mine professionally set up with a hand carved bridge, sound post adjustment and Evah Pirazzi strings. It is a great playing instrument and projects a beautiful robust tone.
