We bought this after trying its small brother (the RoomAid) in our small nursery (11'x15'). We had great results with the RoomAid so we decided to try this in our family room, which is around 15' x 22'.As I mentioned in my RoomAid review, I must have tried at least 5 different air purifier/filter units over the past few years. None of them really seemed to do much, whether they had a HEPA filter or not. None of them seemed to remove the odors from cleaning products, cat litter (we have 2 cats) and various other household stuff. (No VOC filter, I guess.) Neither my wife nor I have particularly sensitive noses but we were often congested and could smell the various chemicals. We put plants in some rooms, which were nice from a decor standpoint, but we couldn't tell if they were being effective over time. We did NOT want to use the "air fresheners" sold at retails chains since they contain all kinds of weird chemicals - including nerve deadeners. Yup, some of them "remove odors" by simply deadening the nerves in your nose. Others overwhelm the "nasty" odors with their own cocktail of "nice" odors. Awesome - NOT!Setup is easy - it arrived fully assembled. All we had to do was plug it in. (We bought it from another store, saving about $70 including shipping. I suggest searching online for the best deal.) We left it on the highest setting during the day and switched it to low (about the 3 0'clock position) in the evening when we were sitting in the family room.Unbelievable... Every smell is gone. There is literally a major difference between the room this unit is in and the rest of the house. Spend time in the bedroom or dining area and your nose is a bit clogged and you can smell all the various chemicals and cat litter. Walk into the family room and you can literally breathe easier. It's like one of those ads where people walk into a room and go,"Aaahhh!" No congestion, no smells, no nothing. Spectacular!The downside is that it is VERY NOISY at the higher levels. Seriously, I don't think I could sit and just read a book quietly in a room with one of these machines on high. Lower settings (25% speed or lower) are tolerable. We plan to run it on high when we don't expect to be in the room and low at other times. Overall, 5 stars for doing its job. I can put up with noise to breathe clean air. We liked it so much we are considering getting another for other parts of the house.

Living in a log home surrounded by trees with a woodstove for heat in the winter, our home is subject to a lot of dust, as well as soot and smoke puffs occasionally from opening the stove. The inside air has clearly not been the healthiest. We don't have any allergies, but when we began seeing too many particles of dust, smoke, soot, cat hair and dander floating around in the air and realized we were breathing it all, it was time to "clear the air".I reseached and compared brands of air purifiers for over a month before deciding on this Amaircare 2500 HEPA Air Purifier, that had been originally recommended by a friend with severe allergies. I ordered it and couldn't wait to receive it! It quickly began doing its thing the minute we turned it on. Within a few hours, the air was noticeably cleaner and fresher.I had read consumer comments that it was especially good at taking out dust and a few people said they didn't have to dust for 2 weeks. I was very excited about that! I have found that it has certainly helped with the dust that we could see in the air, but dust still settles on the TV and furniture (altho' not as quickly). Perhaps it is because we do not keep it on 24/7.I would definitely recommend this air purifier. Also, Amazon had the best price of all the other sites that sell Amaircare products.
