The rattle is just the right size for our 7 month old grandbaby to grasp. The rattle seems to cool and soothe her gums. She likes to shake it.

I know, I know... everyone registers these days. The buggy, the organizer, the instant-super-duper-electronic- diaper sorter-er ... This simple and elegant rattle is still one of the best things they never thought of. The gentle sound of the rattle seems to be just what babies love. A perfect gift. One that the whole family will still have ... years after the super-duper-electronic-whatever has run down its batteries.

I purchased this item as a christening gift for my nephew. I thought it might be a keepsake type gift because he is only four months old. As soon as his gifts were opened and he was offered the rattle, he held it and didn't let go. It is lightweight, and his little hand fit perfectly around the center. He also seemed to like the rattle noises, which were quiet enough that he could rattle away without it becoming grating. It is cool at room temperature and will be perfect when he starts teething. I definitely recommend it!
