I've had a Schaefer duster for over a year now. Purchased it for bad weather and for the "cool factor." I've put it to some decent use since I purchased it and it's held up very well. I could just about pass it off as brand new. Very well stitched and the material is very good.I'm 6ft, and the length is perfect. I purchased this duster in XL, as I planned to wear it over my other coats/jackets, and I wanted to insure that I had enough room. The sizing of this jacket is generous. The truth is I should have just purchased a Large. As the Large and XL are the same length. This duster is not a gimmick. It's designed to be worn as an outer most layer and the cut/design is true. It has more then enough room to cover you + what ever coat/jacket you have on.It has proven to be quite weather proof. I've been out in heavy rain. It keeps you quite dry, spare water coming in from down my neck from, at the time, no so water proof hat.The only draw back that I've had with this duster is the negative stigma associated with long coats. It does not help that I got mine in black. Every one assumes that I'm wearing a trench coat, and I always catch glares from people when I wear it in places that are accustomed to seeing some one wearing one of these things. What else can you expect in this day and age? It's certainly looks the part of an old west gunslingers coat, or a sociopaths wears, and yes..of course.. a flasher or some other misbegotten weirdo.Back to the "gunslinger" thought, this coat has an opening at the bottom of the right waste pocket. It's at the perfect height to draw a pistol through from a holster. I'm not assuming this is by chance, but it also serves an access point to your trouser pocket. Nice feature.The wrists are adjustable and use velcro. Very functional. The zippers are very large and durable. The pockets a roomy and placed well.The weight is nice. It's not heavy. Again, this is a not a heavy jacket. It's not supposed to be. It's a duster.If I had any negative remark on this coat, it is the lack of leg straps. I been meaning to sew some in to help keep the bottom moving "with me." It would also help with going up stairs, if you are not careful you will step on the coat and I've almost tripped my self up going up stairs or other inclines.Very nice coat, I'm planning on buying a tan one in Large next time I got some extra money. For any one who is interested in a duster, I'm very happy with this one, and I'm strongly recommending this product.

I am very impressed with this coat. It matches the description and I was amazed of how good it looks in person. This coat has a very nice design to it and it looks and feels durable. I'm 6 feet tall and the length of it is where I wanted it to be, it's long but it wont drag on the ground. The length of the coat can also be shortened to about where my knees are and it looks great like that as well, you just fold the bottom of it and secure it with some buttons it has.I wear the size large. At first I was skeptical about ordering a large because I thought it was going to be really big but the size of this coat is just right! I do not regret buying this coat.

The first time I felt the winds from a Nor'easter' I knew I need some protection for my legs and the duster definitely offers that. I do like the style so i am biased as far as how it looks. Despite initial appearances the coat is very durable and surprisingly warm. There is no lack of pockets, and I especially like the flap in the right hand pocket that allows you to reach your pant pockets (for keys or whatever you may be hiding in there). overall this coat is stylish, the material feels strong and durable, and it is put together well. The price may seem steep, but I fully expect this coat to last for several years which makes it a worthwhile investment.
