By computer-girl
We actually installed this sink without the pedastal. This is a very unique and functional sink that has a very functional towel bar as well which we do use.It took two of us to install it, and we are glad that we did rather than pay a plumber to do so. The instructions are pretty straight forward.I love the fact that it fits in a compact bathroom, yet there is adequate bowl space and depth as well as surface area to place soap, dispensers, etc.I wanted a setup that would allow me to wash my hands without fear of touching the back or the sides of the bowl or splashing lots of water about, even when vigorously soaping, rubbing and washing my hands. At the same time, I don't mind paying attention so that I don't splash water all over the place. Every now and then I make a splash on the sink ledge, but it is easily cleaned up. I don't really recall splashing anything on the floor.Splashing or lack thereof will be determined by the bowl AND the faucet and also paying attention to what one is doing. Therefore, I wanted a relatively deep bowl (5.5", in this case).I chose the "Delta 592-SS-DST Addison Single Handle Centerset Lavatory Faucet, Stainless" which has a high arch.If you are concerned about brushing against the towels, The towel bar is about 1/2" or so back from the bowl, close enough to easily grab the towel. I never lean against the towel bar even if I am very close to or touching the bowl, I simply lean into the bowl with my feet placed back somewhat. And this is not at all an awkward or dangerous position for me.
