This is a substantial heavy light fixture. The glass is thick and casts great shadows. It is much larger than it appears. We decided not to use the two we ordered with our fans and instead chose to hang them above our kitchen island with down rods purchased separately (for very little $). What a fantastic and stunning addition to our kitchen. We will soon be building a new home and I want them for it as well. . . but used the two I ordered here for their "Wow!" factor for potential buyer of current home.
