Red Line's 85 Plus Diesel Fuel Additive Treatment is designed for use in all diesel engines and contains extremely powerful lubricants, detergents, seal conditioners, fuel stabilizers and rust preventatives, but without smoke suppressant. Red Line 85+ contains additional cetane improvers which boost the fuel 5-9 cetane numbers and additional lubricants which reduce wear in low sulfur fuel by 75%. This improvement in lubricity and cetane will reduce detonation, assist starting, help reduce smoking, help prevent fuel system wear and leakage and can provide 5% additional power and efficiency. This diesel fuel additive complies with the federal low sulfur content requirements for use in diesel motor vehicles and nonroad engines. Extremely powerful high-temperature detergents clean fuel injectors. Lubricants significantly lengthen injector and pump life and reduce ring friction which is very important for today's low-sulfur fuel. Both Red Line Diesel Fuel Catalyst and 85 Plus are available as a winterized version which will reduce the pour point of a typical fuel by 25°F.

I've been using this stuff for 6 years now. I love it. If on the off chance I forget to add it at the fuel station, I almost immediately notice a loss of power! The 85-Plus is kinda like having octane booster but for diesels. I think the fuel savings claim comes from the fact that if you have more power, then you CAN drive with a little less throttle...but who's gona do that?! We all want more power! But be sure to get the Red Line with the cetane booster in it, like 85-Plus and RL-3 as the company makes it w/o the booster as well.A couple of other thing I've noticed over the years with using 85-Plus is, older diesel run smother as time goes by and there is noticeable less exhaust smoke with the additive.I know I'm going to continue to use it in my "fleet" of diesels. Oh, I use it in my and the wife's Mercedes' and my Chevy 6.5L. I really notice a difference in the smaller engines in the Mercedes. And since the advent of clean diesel at the pumps I've been using at least 2oz/10 gal. Hope this helps.

This stuff actually works. I have a new 2007 Duramax with only 5000 miles. I put in the additive and the truck ran quieter with an increase of 1.5-2 miles per gallon. Well worth the money when fuel is $4.75 a gallon.

I did not se any increse in mpg, but using it gives me peace of mind that my fuel is lubricated enough, and it is keeping the injectors cleener.
