This little gem gets all the famous rock-guitar sounds you crave. It has the same tone quality of other Tech 21 pedals, but has the advantage of three selectable and programmable channels.Even on clean sounds, it will enhance the tone of your guitar in front of any amp. You can quickly dial in and save any preset you like and save it in three seconds.The manual is easy to read and is short because this is so intuitive.Plug it in. Dial up a tone. Press and hold that button. You're done.You can also adjust tone in real time, just like old-school guitarists all do.For a slightly more authentic tone, the Carl Martin Plexitone has no equal, but this is a very close second. Since this is less expensive and so intuitive to use, I give it high marks for value and versatility.I haven't had this particular pedal that long, but it appears to made to the same high standards as all the Tech 21 stuff. I still have my original sansamp from 25 years ago, and that still works perfectly. I also have the GT2 and the PSA1. This gets my vote for a balance between versatility and portability.BTW, this is one of the better prices I have seen on this pedal anywhere.A hidden technical advantage that some players do not understand: This has a very high input impedance. Without a long explanation, I'll just tell you: That means it will drive longer cable-runs with less signal loss. In other words, it won't mess with your basic tone and it will drive other effect pedals in the signal path with less noise.This is an excellent addition to the Tech 21 line: Cheap enough for weekend warriors, Easy enough for tyros and saturated with pro-tones.

i bought this pedal from amazon in Nov. of 2010. i had only recently found out about Tech 21. if you don't know who they are it's worth a trip to their website; hand wired, made in the USA. this is absolutely the "best" overdrive/distortion pedal i have ever seen/heard. 3 programmable channels. easy to manipulate and an infinite amount of sounds. in spite of the customization it's also very easy to use. rock solid build quality and it's been running on the same 9v since November! 2 rehearsals a week and an average of 2 3 hr gigs a month! since this purchase i've gone on to purchase a Tech 21 Trademark 60 Combo Amp and a Boost Chorus pedal. i highly recommend this product and manufacturer! good luck and have fun!
