I was going to work one day when my driver side window gave out. The window would roll down, but did nothing when I hit the switch to make it go up. Also my rear passenger side window had the exact same problem when I controlled it with the driver side switch. I removed the door trim panel and water shield and I began diagnosis. I lubricated the track with a silicone spray and cleared any gunk and debris that adhered to the steel cables. I disconnected the motor mount and used a power supply (a 12 volt battery would also work) and supplied voltage directly to the motor. It worked, both up and down no problem, therefore the problem couldn't be the regulator. I then used a multi-meter to test dc voltage coming from the wire supplying the motor. The black wire was the ground while the other three, red, red/yellow, and blue represent different signal wires. The red controls the window up. Tested that one first, got my 13 VDC, then went to the red/yellow, window down and turns out I only had about 3 VDC when I hit the button. Something was wrong, I need to order one of these. Once it came in the mail I tested it first before reassembling and the problem was solved, including the rear passenger window problem. So I posted this because I don't believe I am the first or the last person who is going to have this issue. I hope this helps. 1997 Honda Accord I4 2.2L Sedan SE (Special Edition)

I was having a problem with my 96 Honda Accord 4dr windows that you could only make some of the windows go down but not back up. First I thought it was the window regulator and replaced one but still had the same problem.The replacement switch I ordered went in without a hitch. The only difference from the orginal was that you had to first remove the black plastic cover to be able to see the mounting screw holes. I highly recommend the switch as it fits and works like an orignal but at much less cost.

Perfect replacement and the price is good vs $170.00 that cost in Honda autoparts.After instalation fits like oem the olny thing is you have to put 3 screw from the old switch to attach at door handle.
