I have been using a Mason Pearson brush for 15 years - the same brush! These are remarkable quality, long-lasting, great on the scalp, excellent for long or thick hair. I bought the full-size version for myself, but this pocket size is exactly right for a young lady of 6 who also has long straight thick hair. You will never regret purchasing a Mason Pearson brush, and given the long life of this product, I don't think it's at all overpriced. I expect to get at least another 10 years wear from mine - compared to a cheap brush that falls apart in a couple of months and costs far less, which would be replaced many times over the lifetime of a Mason Pearson product. Quality is always worth the price.
