This thing works OK. It doesn't perform flawlessly, meaning that it doesn't deflect 100% of your breath, but it does work. It works best when it is just kinda cold (In my opinion anything >25 degrees). When it is bitter cold (somewhere around 10-15 degrees) this thing just doesn't deflect enough breath to keep my helmet's visor clear, and at bitter cold temps the fog quickly turns to ice that won't just wipe away. Being new to snowmobiles, I haven't broken down and bought a snowmobile helmet; I just use a motorcycle helmet. Unfortunately the motorcycle helmet crushes the fog deflector piece enough that I have to unclip the helmet's facemask to keep it from crushing the fog deflector. But even then, without the fog deflector crushed, it still just works OK (and that's WITH the extra air making its way into the helmet due to the unclipped facemask). I would recommend the product to a friend but with a disclaimer. However, I'd advise even more investing in a helmet specifically for snowmobiling with the built-in fog deflector face pieces.
