When researching in-wall speakers and reading people reviews you kind of end up scratching your head. Some people go on and on when it's not necessary. I won't do that here. For less then $200 a pair you're only going to get a limited quaility of sound regardless of what anyone tells you. These speakers are very well constructed, nice crossover assembly and couldn't get any easier to install. They sound very good without any audible distortion at moderate levels. I run them in a 7.1 set up with a Pioneer VSX-1020 and they do very well with both movies and music. I would highly recommend them if you have a limited budget and you're not trying run them in a very large room.

First off, I must say that I am a big fan of Definitive Technology speakers since I first heard them in about 1999. I've always enjoyed music and always tried to have as good a sound system as my budget allowed. Wanting to upgrade my system I stopped at a local hi-fi dealer and auditioned many speakers. The brand that I kept coming back to was Definitive Tech. I ended up buying a pair of BP-2002 powered towers, a CLR2002 center, a PF15TL powered sub, and a pair of BP2X surrounds. This system is truly outstanding! After doing a bathroom remodel I decided to add in-wall speakers so my first choice was Definitive Tech. I purchased the Definitive Technology UIW-55 and mounted them on opposing walls in the bathroom and I must say, they sound great and have very good bass since the 2x4 stud wall cavities act as a box. The highs are crystal clear and there is plenty of punch. I don't play these very loud since I just use them for music while showering but they are definitely worth the price. Since then I've also added a pair of Definitive Tech ProMonitor 800's for my small living room system. They sound great as well. You can't go wrong with Definitive Tech. Highly recommended.
