If you want to see a vast improvement over the stock light this is the item that will get the job done! You will be more than satisfied and it just may save you from a rear-end hit.ALSO VERY VERY EASY to install,takes no longer than changing the bulb,it is "plug n play"

That's what is says on the packaging.How could this thing NOT be DOT approved? Incandescent bulbs burn out. The vibrations of the motorcycle and the road more quickly decreases the life of incandescent bulbs. Even if one of the 32 LEDs in this tail light were to ever fail, you're still left with 31 remaining LEDs. When your ONE incandesent tail light fails, you're left with nothing.This LED tail light is very bright. When you apply the brake, it becomes INCREDIBLY bright! It will definitely get the driver's attention behind you.In my opinion, incandescent bulbs should become DOT UN-approved...A very good product!

I have a Yamaha Royal Star Venture and replaced the tail light with this led light. It is much more noticeable than the stock bulb. It takes a couple of minutes to change out. I am very satisfied with this product.
