The tray itself is a work of art. However, I did not read carefully enough. It is an oval tray and I wanted a round one so this went back. I would order from this company in the future.

Yes, I read the dimensions but still didn't realize exactly how impressive this oval tray actually was until it arrived. First, this has a very nice shine to it and is NOT brushed but rather a niceh copper sheen.Next, it is HEAVY. This is no flimsy platter or serving tray but rather a solid piece of serving you will feel just fine about placing in public. When they say "heavy gauge" they really mean it...I estimate it weighs several pounds...I need to actually weigh it but will not be surprised if it approaches 4-5 pounds (seriously!).The design if void of decoration making it highly versatile. Each piece is handcrafted and has the mark of the maker so expect some small variations. Overall, a better than expected tray that will withstand the test of time when properly cared for. It should not go out of style due to the basic beauty of the piece. NICE ITEM!
