I purchased this item based on its excellent reviews and specs, and opted to order it from a seller that uses amazon as the fulfillment agent (thus getting free "Prime" shipping.)It arrived in a battered box that had been re-taped, which caused me to believe it might have been a returned and re-stocked item. That would have been fine, since the item appeared to be new.However, when I assembled the item, I discovered that a small - but crucial - part was missing. I intended to return the item to amazon, which is an inconvenient process.Instead, I did a bit of searching and discovered that the U.S. rep for Konig & Meyer is Connolly Music ([...]). Connolly's website gives instructions on how to order replacement parts, so I followed the procedure. I didn't really expect that it would work, but in fact a support rep very quickly responded to my inquiry, sent me a schematic for the unit that enabled me to specifically identify the missing part, and for a few dollars I was able to order it directly. Although I was disappointed and inconvenienced by the shipping of an incomplete unit, I was surprised and impressed by the service I received from Connolly, and the stand itself is an excellent product, well-designed, well-engineered, and a bargain at the price.

I've used three of these two to three times a week for the past 8 years and they're still as solid and sturdy as when I began using them.

These stands are heavy, beefy and seemingly strong. However the main piece used to tighten or loosen the clutch has been converted over to plastic. Our older stands have bent pieces, and with these new ones using plastic, I question their durability. However, nothing has failed in the course of a few months with medium duty.
