Product Description
This extremely versatile tripod is ideal for Mini DV camcorders. Made entirely of aluminum, the 755XB has a removable center column with a built-in 50mm levelling ball and bubble spirit level that can easily be fitted as a lateral arm. Not only does this allow the camera to be offset from the leg position, it is also the simplest way to shoot a subject from directly overhead. The 755XB's unique center column construction and precision-machined red anodized aluminum allows the leveling ball to be locked by a detachable rotating grip built at the bottom of the center column. This allows the camera operator to level the camera and even adjust its height without needing to make micro adjustments to each individual tripod legs. Replaces item # 755B

This model is my most recent purchase of several of the Manfrotto "MDEVE" type tripods. I paired it up with a Manfrotto 701HDV Pro Fluid Video Mini Head. All purchased through Amazon.com. The combination works very well with my Canon HS100 and HV30 camcorders. The tripod's leveling feature works great. I shoot almost entirely outdoors and it makes leveling quick and simple. This model has an extendable center column which raises the camera's position to above my 5' 10'' body height's eyeballs.Legs slide easily to extend and collapse the height. There is a hook off to the side, near the column twist lock to hang a weight. So far no problems and I'm happy with the purchase.(A note to Amazon. The photo that accompanies your product page for this item is not the correct one. I knew this from further research, but please consider changing it.)UPDATE 8-28-2010 It appears that Amazon took my request for a corrected product photo seriously. Not the best photo, but it seems to be of the right tripod now. Also, I've added a photo of my own taken while in use.

I'm pretty embarrassed for having used cheap big-box $35 tripods for too many years now that I've had this Manfrotto tripod for a few months.I primarily use a tripod for video, and bought this 755XB with the Manfrotto 701HDV Pro Fluid Video Mini Head. The combination is just super. The tripod itself is rock-stable even in its standard position. The legs can be spread wider for more stability, or uneven ground situations. The leveling mechanism is just so fast if you need to move the tripod - just loosen the head plate, adjust for the leveling bubble and tighten. What an idiot I was dealing with adjusting the length of two separate legs on a cheap tripod for years.Love it.
