The wall clock arrived with one blemish at the top of the case, at the pinnacle of the arch where the 1cm ding to the laquer finish would not be visible to viewers. The setup was straight forward and relatively easy. Of course, the pendulum and weights are cosmetic and have nothing to do with the keeping of time. The battery powered movement moves the pendulum but not the weights. The construction of the case is quite good, not great. The workmanship of the clock face, weights, and pendulum is decent, clearly not top of the line, not equal to a top clock. The Seiko electric clock keeps excellent time. This is a cosmetic wall clock which looks quite nice and achieves the purposes of being nice to look at, keeps excellent time, and resounds pleasantly through the house. It has the advantage of not needing to be fiddled with to reset the weights. It is then a nice, functional decorative piece. We bought it on Christmas sale for about $800, well below list prices as high as near $2,000. It's real value is probably about $450-500 or less. It is over priced at the sale price but we do like it and will keep it.
