Red Line's D4 Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) is Red Line's most popular and versatile ATF. D4 is suitable for use where Dexron III, Dexron II, or Mercon fluids are recommended. D4 ATF is a fully-synthetic product designed to satisfy the improved low-temperature requirements which will be in the new Dexron IV specification, and the improved shear-stability requirements which will be part of the new Mercon specifications. D4 ATF also provides a GL-4 level of gear protection, making it a superior product for transmissions and transaxles like the Corvette's T-56. The balanced frictional characteristics provide smooth and consistent shifts for extended drain intervals. The superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs allows high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches which leads to transmission failure. Honda Perfect with Redline D4 ATF

The Redline D4 ATF is highly regarded by Honda enthusiasts for their fragile automatic transmissions (at least generation 6/7). The Redline ATF is not readily found in my locale, so Amazon was a good choice, although still expensive. The Redline D4 is held as a quality synthetic and is supposed to be more stable than the Honda Z1 or new DW-1 ATFs. I performed the Honda flush - three drain/refill cycles and seemed to notice a more smooth action. This vehicle has a good many miles and hopefully will provide continued reliable service.Remember: the Honda V6 has a fill port (17mm capscrew) on the drivers side top of transmission, with ATF stamped on the screw head. Four cylinder ATF addition is done through the dip stick port.

Redline ATF is priced about the same to slightly more than some other fully synthetic ATF's but it is the best and for a product you may only change a couple of times in the life of your car (and only if you keep your car a long time) it is well worth it. Noticeably shifts better all around but especially in Cold weather.

I bought this ATF for mine and a friends vw's transmissions. I did the transmission service and used this ATF to refill them. Redline I found makes a fantastic oil product. Especially on vehicles that are really fussy on the type of fluid or oil they use, redline has never let me down.
